U.17 Nam Dinh won the opening match, U.17 Ho Chi Minh City defeated Da Nang

The National U.17 Finals - Thai Son Nam Cup 2025 opened at Ba Ria Stadium, with the participation of 12 teams that passed the qualifying round.

On the afternoon of September 15, at Ba Ria Stadium (HCMC), the opening ceremony of the final round of the National U.17 Championship - Thai Son Nam Cup 2025 took place.

This is the third consecutive year that Thai Son Nam has accompanied the U.17 Finals, after the previous 8-year association (2011 - 2018). VFF recognizes this as a responsible and persistent companionship with Vietnamese youth football.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau, Deputy General Secretary of VFF, Head of the tournament's Organizing Committee, emphasized that the tournament is a playground to affirm the quality of youth training centers, an opportunity for talents to accumulate experience and develop, aiming for national teams in the future.

Right after the opening ceremony was the first match in Group A. With home field advantage, from the 9th minute, U.17 Ho Chi Minh City opened the score against U.17 SHB Da Nang. This was also the final score of the match. In the previous match, U.17 Thep Xanh Nam Dinh won 2-1 against U.17 Cong An Ha Noi.

Leading thanks to Duc Huy's goal in the 21st minute, U.17 Cong An Ha Noi played confidently in the first half. However, reasonable adjustments after the break helped Thep Xanh Nam Dinh control the game better. In the last 10 minutes, striker Tuan Hoan shone with a double in the 84th and 90th minutes, bringing a dramatic 2-1 victory to the young team from Thanh Nam.

The National U.17 Finals - Thai Son Nam Cup 2025 has the participation of 12 teams that passed the qualifying round: The Cong Viettel, PVF - CAND, LPBank HAGL, Hanoi, Song Lam Nghe An, SHB Da Nang, An Giang, Hanoi Police, Thep Xanh Nam Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City and host Ho Chi Minh City Football Club.
