Not only a military leader, Mr. Tran Trong Anh Tu is also a researcher and the first person in Vietnam to achieve a doctorate in tennis. During his time managing the tennis court in the Youth Cultural House and being the Head of the Tennis Department of the Central University of Sports 2, Mr. Tu has diligently researched and painstakingly collected, compiled, and edited all the playing styles, technical and tactical pieces of many athletes from amateur to top in the world .
Since then, he has created many valuable documents for tennis. These books and publications not only serve the teaching, learning and research of students and lecturers, but also make an important contribution to the development of more specialized documents for sports . He himself has also coordinated with the Vietnam Tennis Federation and the Ho Chi Minh City Tennis Federation to organize short and long-term courses, impart knowledge and train, develop and build a modern coaching team, suitable for today's reality.

Don't want tennis to fall behind
Although he has now retired and settled in the US, Mr. Tran Trong Anh Tu still continues to pursue his teaching and coaching career abroad. He is also concerned about the country's tennis in the face of the strong development of pickleball, causing a large number of tennis players to "change direction", including many big names. But what makes Vietnamese tennis stagnate is the paradoxes that still exist over time without a satisfactory solution. For example, the training and coaching process is not stable, the tournament system has been better consolidated but is still thin. Especially, investment to nurture talent, maintain the position and strength of the country's tennis is still very limited.

Therefore, Mr. Tran Trong Anh Tu decided to donate all of his nearly 500 books and publications to the Ho Chi Minh City University of Sports. "I hope that these documents will be inherited and promoted by generations of lecturers and students, contributing to improving the quality of training at the school, especially in the field of training and competition. The important thing is to rekindle the passion and love for tennis so that together we can keep the fire burning, adding strength to the country's tennis to make changes and improve its quality so as not to fall behind," said Mr. Tu.
The Board of Directors of the University of Sports and Physical Education in Ho Chi Minh City assessed that these are useful documents, which can be considered as a scientific research project with practical value, not only making a practical contribution to the school but also showing the feelings and responsibility of a former coach and lecturer who was very passionate about the country's tennis. This is also a source of spiritual encouragement for staff, lecturers and students to continue researching, studying and practicing.
