Alcaraz has superior stats to Sinner
The 2025 US Open final will be the third consecutive Grand Slam encounter between Sinner and Alcaraz.
At Arthur Ashe Stadium, Alcaraz was in command. The 22-year-old outscored Sinner with 42 winners to 21 and dropped just nine points on his first serve in a 2-hour, 42-minute performance.

In the first set, the Spaniard broke early and maintained the advantage with extremely heavy serves. Sinner tried to create difficult situations but often missed. The Italian lost another break point and lost 2-6.
Sinner found stability in the second set, while Alcaraz continued to make mistakes and paid the price by losing a break in game 4. Sinner took advantage of the opportunity and won 6-3. This was also Alcaraz's first loss of the tournament, preventing him from making history as the first person to win all his matches.

It seemed like this would be a psychological boost for Sinner, but the reality was completely the opposite. Alcaraz immediately regained control of the game in game 3. He took advantage of his ability to serve and control the baseline very well. A series of heavy and accurate shots helped Alcaraz win quickly 6-1, re-establishing the lead 2-1.

Entering the 4th set, Sinner tried to catch up, but Alcaraz took control of the game. Having a break point in game 5, Alcaraz quickly ended the set with a score of 6-4, thereby winning 3-1 overall to be crowned the 2025 US Open champion.
“I know he put a lot of effort into his performance today. Alcaraz and his team did better than me. Enjoy it. It was a great moment,” Sinner said after the match.
Alcaraz led the Tour with seven titles and 61 wins in 2025. Alcaraz thanked the audience: “My team, my family and I are really lucky to have you. What you have given me has always helped me to improve, not only professionally but also as a person. Everything I have achieved is thanks to you and this achievement is also yours.”

This victory not only prevented Sinner from winning two consecutive US Open titles but also ended the Italian's 65-week reign on the ATP rankings, bringing the Spaniard back to the top after 2 years. This is also the 6th Grand Slam of Alcaraz's career, including the 2022 and 2025 US Opens, 2023 and 2024 Wimbledons, and 2024 and 2025 French Opens.
