Khmer students in Can Tho get 3 days off to celebrate Sene Dolta

The People's Committee of Can Tho City has just issued an Official Dispatch on organizing activities to celebrate Sene Dolta festival of Khmer people in the city. Accordingly, cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, soldiers of the armed forces and Khmer students working and studying at agencies, units and schools in the city will have 3 days off for Sene Dolta festival in 2025 (from September 21 to 23).

The Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Department Directors, Heads of city agencies, departments and branches, Chairmen of People's Committees of communes and wards and relevant units to proactively arrange and schedule appropriate work and duty schedules so that Khmer cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, students and pupils can take holidays on time as prescribed.

Previously, the People's Committee of Can Tho City also issued a Plan on organizing activities to celebrate Sene Dolta Festival of Khmer people in Can Tho City in 2025.

With the theme "Celebrating Sene Dolta 2025 - Solidarity, innovation, integration and development", the celebration activities will take place over 3 days (from September 21 to 23), at locations related to the activities of the Khmer people and Khmer Theravada Buddhist pagodas in Can Tho city.

The city established 19 delegations led by leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, National Assembly Delegation, and representatives of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units to visit, congratulate and give gifts to policy families, outstanding collectives and individuals.

The City People's Committee also requested the City Education Promotion Association to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and relevant units to select Khmer students with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties and studied well to receive scholarships, at the live television program on the occasion of Sene Dolta Festival on the evening of September 22, at Pothi Somron Pagoda, O Mon Ward.

Through activities, to propagate the Party's guidelines, policies, laws of the State and socio -economic achievements. Encourage Khmer people to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to the overall development of the city.
