Provincial Veterans Association: Promoting the movement of veterans helping each other reduce poverty and improve life

On the morning of June 16, the Provincial Veterans Association held the 7th Executive Committee meeting for the 2022-2027 term, reviewing activities in the first 6 months of the year and deploying directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

Over the past 6 months, the provincial Associations at all levels have proactively and effectively implemented resolutions and directives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association and local Party committees and authorities. The province has admitted 229 new members, bringing the total number of members to 13,643.

In the movement of war veterans helping each other reduce poverty and improve their lives, the Association at all levels, cadres and members supported each other with more than 1,000 working days, worth about 216 million VND; 2,284 trees and seedlings of all kinds, worth 195 million VND. As of June 16, the whole province had built and repaired 71 houses, worth 6.8 billion VND.

The Association at all levels organized visits and presented 6,153 gifts to policy families, members who are war invalids, sick soldiers, Agent Orange victims and those in difficult circumstances, worth 2.3 billion VND; maintained 356 entrusted loan groups, with outstanding loans of nearly 578.5 billion VND for 15,899 borrowing households; contributed 20.9 billion VND in interest-free revolving capital, supporting 4,384 members to borrow for production and business to improve family life.

The Association at all levels coordinated with relevant agencies to successfully mediate 152/240 conflicts among the people; 5,160 cadres and members participated in 2,664 patrols, contributing to ensuring security, politics, and social order and safety in the area.
