Implementing the Project to preserve, restore and promote the value of traditional communal houses in the 2021-2025 period, Quang Ngai province has restored 35 communal houses, of which 12 were newly built and 23 were repaired, entirely using traditional materials, preserving the architectural identity of each ethnic group. The main funding source comes from the local budget, capital from national target programs and the community's contributions of working days.
By August 2025, nearly 420 ethnic minority villages in the province had communal houses; the number of villages without communal houses has decreased significantly. The restoration of traditional communal houses contributes to the preservation of the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space - an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.
