Entering 2025 - the final year of the multidimensional poverty standard period 2021-2025, Cat Tien commune is focusing on mobilizing resources and synchronously implementing many solutions to help poor and near-poor households escape poverty sustainably.
According to the review results at the end of 2024, Cat Tien commune still has 29 poor households and 35 near-poor households. Through analysis, there are 12 shortage indicators recorded, in which the most prominent are health insurance (56 households), employment and livelihood (45 households), and high dependency in the family (39 households). In addition, many households still face difficulties in housing, nutrition, telecommunications and sanitation. These are considered "bottlenecks" that can easily lead to the risk of falling back into poverty if households encounter risks related to health or labor.
In order to overcome difficulties, in 2025, Cat Tien commune was allocated 3.7 billion VND from the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction by the province. Of which, 1.6 billion VND is for livelihood diversification and model replication; 1.6 billion VND for agricultural production development and nutrition improvement; 500 million VND for capacity building, monitoring and evaluation. The capital allocation is based on specific shortage data, ensuring the right target, prioritizing poor and near-poor households with especially difficult circumstances.

From the above resources, Cat Tien commune has built a plan with a specific goal that by the end of 2025, 17 poor households and 19 near-poor households will escape poverty sustainably. At the same time, the locality strives to completely resolve the shortage of health insurance, employment, housing and nutrition.
To achieve the goal, many solutions have been and are being implemented synchronously by Cat Tien commune. Specifically, the commune has supported livelihoods and jobs for 45 households through providing seeds, materials, small production tools and guidance on farming techniques. At the same time, the commune has also organized 6 vocational groups and started small businesses, contributing to creating stable jobs for about 60 local workers.
In the agricultural sector, the commune focuses on investing in models of growing high-quality vegetables and rice, and raising livestock in a sustainable manner; at the same time, building consumption chains and product consumption to stabilize output for agricultural products.

Regarding nutrition, poor and near-poor households with nutritional deficiencies will be supported with two cycles of coordinated intervention between the Commune Health Station and kindergartens. At the same time, the capacity of village staff and collaborators will be improved through training courses; the commune will promote communication, dialogue, mobilize social resources and strengthen independent monitoring to ensure sustainable effectiveness.

In addition, Cat Tien commune integrates the poverty reduction program with new rural construction and economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Departments, branches, organizations, schools, medical stations and villages are all assigned specific tasks, creating a combined strength.

Recently, the Standing Committee of the Cat Tien Commune Party Committee organized a thematic conference on poverty reduction in 2025. Here, the commune leaders directly met and listened to the thoughts and difficulties of poor and near-poor households. On that basis, the Commune People's Committee proposed appropriate support solutions to help people feel secure in registering to escape poverty. As a result, in 2025, 18 households registered to escape poverty and 25 households registered to escape near-poverty.

We identify poverty reduction as not just providing immediate support, but more importantly, giving people sustainable livelihoods. The ultimate goal is for people to be able to stand on their own two feet and not fall back into poverty when facing difficulties.

In addition to the positive results, poverty reduction in Cat Tien still faces many obstacles. These include limited access to information, capital and production tools. In particular, the fear of borrowing capital still exists, affecting the ability to develop livelihoods.

To overcome this, Cat Tien commune has stepped up propaganda and mobilized people to raise their self-reliance awareness and not rely on the State's support. The Fatherland Front and commune organizations have promoted the movement to help each other escape poverty.
Many creative models have been and are being implemented, such as the Commune People's Committee launching the movement "Each agency and unit sponsors a poor household to escape poverty"; school Party cells mobilize resources to support poor students with health insurance cards and boarding school meals; the Fatherland Front and mass organizations organize visits and give gifts to encourage households to escape poverty on holidays and Tet.

With the drastic participation of the political system, the consensus and efforts of the people, Cat Tien commune believes that it will complete the poverty reduction targets in 2025. More importantly, each solution aims at sustainability, creating conditions for people to assert their abilities and stabilize their lives in the long term.
These steps not only contribute to improving people's lives but also change the appearance of Cat Tien countryside, affirming the determination to build a rich and civilized homeland.
