Online conference to implement the National Assembly's supervision program in 2024

On the morning of November 17, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue chaired a conference to deploy the implementation of the National Assembly's supervision program in 2024. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong; Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha co-chaired the conference.

The conference was held directly at the National Assembly House and connected online with 62 connecting points in provinces and centrally run cities.

Attending the conference at Ninh Binh bridge point were comrade Tran Thi Hong Thanh, Member of Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the province; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors.

At the conference, delegates listened to a summary report assessing the results of the National Assembly's supervisory activities in 2023 and implementing the supervisory program in 2024.

Accordingly, in 2023, the supervision activities of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee will be continuously improved and innovated, from institutional building to the implementation of each supervision content. Questioning and answering activities at the National Assembly sessions and the National Assembly Standing Committee meetings will ensure compliance with regulations, be close to reality, and promptly resolve issues of concern to voters and the people by organizing 4 questioning sessions at the National Assembly sessions and the National Assembly Standing Committee meetings. On that basis, the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee have issued 3 resolutions on 8 fields.

Thematic supervision activities continue to have many innovations in the organization and implementation; supervision of legal documents has been directed by the National Assembly Standing Committee with many synchronous, practical and effective solutions; supervision of the settlement of complaints, denunciations and recommendations of voters has been increasingly strengthened and become a regular activity...

With the goal of monitoring being implemented synchronously with the process of developing and implementing legal policies, in 2024, the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee will continue to lead, direct and organize the implementation of monitoring tasks. In particular, the National Assembly has chosen to supervise two topics: "Implementation of Resolution No. 43/2022/QH15, dated January 11, 2022 of the National Assembly on fiscal and monetary policies to support the Socio -economic Recovery and Development Program and resolutions of the National Assembly on a number of important national projects until the end of 2023" and the topic "Implementation of policies and laws on real estate market management and social housing development from 2015 to the end of 2023".

The National Assembly Standing Committee selected two supervision topics: "Implementation of policies and laws on innovation of the organization and management system, improving the quality and efficiency of operations of public service units in the 2018-2023 period" and "Implementation of policies and laws on ensuring traffic order and safety from 2009 to the end of 2023".

At the conference, delegates discussed difficulties and obstacles in implementing the supervision program of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee in 2023, and solutions for implementation in 2024.

Concluding the conference, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the implementation of the supervision program of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee in 2023. At the same time, he affirmed that the online conference had met the set requirements, the National Assembly Standing Committee accepted and acknowledged the responsible comments of National Assembly deputies, central agencies, National Assembly delegations of provinces and cities...

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue also emphasized: 2024 is the year of preparation for party congresses at all levels, organizing the arrangement of administrative units at commune and district levels, so coordination in supervision must be carefully considered to both achieve the requirements and objectives of supervision and limit the impact on localities and bases. It is necessary to continue to innovate and improve the quality of supervision work; focus on remote and early review of reports; closely monitor the implementation of conclusions and recommendations after supervision.

Focus on innovation, continue to create qualitative changes in the supervisory activities of the Nationalities Council and National Assembly agencies. Focus on strengthening the supervision of the National Assembly delegation in conjunction with the functions, tasks and supervisory authority of National Assembly deputies. Strengthen coordination activities with the Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the State Audit, the Government Inspectorate, and the local political system.

Thematic monitoring delegations need to focus on monitoring the issuance of detailed guidance documents and especially the implementation stage so that laws and policies can be put into practice and strictly implemented.
