'Book fair inspires passion for reading in the community'

The Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee emphasized that organizing a book fair is a practical action, contributing to arousing passion and reading habits in the community, while promoting the spirit of self-study and lifelong learning - one of the important foundations for sustainable development of society.

On the evening of October 3, at the walking space of Hoan Kiem Lake (Hoan Kiem Ward), the Hanoi Book Fair 2025 with the theme "Thang Long - Hanoi - Aspiration to rise" was officially opened. The book fair takes place for 4 days, from October 2 to 5.

The 10th Hanoi Book Fair, directed by the Hanoi People's Committee and implemented by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, is a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), National Day September 2 and the 71st anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025).

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Truong Viet Dung affirmed that the role of books and reading culture still holds an important position, always being an invaluable source of knowledge, a means and a tool to create awareness of the world .

Developing a reading culture, especially a reading culture that goes hand in hand with science , technology, innovation and digital transformation, is a practical task and action to build the capital Hanoi into a "civilized - civilized - modern" one.

"This is a practical action, contributing to arousing passion and reading habits in the community, while promoting the spirit of self-study and lifelong learning - one of the important foundations for sustainable development of society," Mr. Dung affirmed.

With the theme "Thang Long - Hanoi - Aspiration to rise", this year's book fair includes booths displaying and introducing books and publications from domestic and foreign countries with attractive content from publishing and distribution units.

The highlight of the Hanoi Book Fair 2025 is to bring readers and visitors new experiences with digital transformation applications in publishing and cultural industry activities. These include "Thousand-year-old Thang Long Bookshelf", "Electronic version of Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam Bookshelf"; Q&A interaction with "AI Turtle"; VR360 virtual reality experience; interactive GIS application to look up information about the latest 34 provinces and cities, view digital maps; mobile library...

There are also many creative check-in spaces, impressively designed, bearing the mark of Hanoi past and present, an attractive destination for locals and tourists.
