"Reviving" the cultural values ​​of the Cao Lan ethnic group

Cao Lan Ethnic Culture and Arts Club (Ha Thuong Commune, Dai Tu, Thai Nguyen) - will be a bridge between the past and the future, between traditional values ​​and modern life. The club is not only a place to preserve and practice culture but also an address for people to exchange, connect, and promote tourism activities of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Thai Nguyen province.

Life is becoming more and more civilized and modern. In the whirlpool of movement and development, many traditional cultural values ​​are at risk of being lost and forgotten. But "Culture is the soul of the nation, if culture exists, the nation exists" - the saying of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is an admonition for us, at any cost, to preserve the cultural identity of our nation.

At the launching ceremony of the Cao Lan Ethnic Culture and Arts Club, delegates enjoyed Sinh Ca and Tac Xinh dances and participated in cultural exchange activities and many fun games. Cao Lan folk songs, also known as Sinh Ca and Tac Xinh dances, are unique folk performing arts of the Cao Lan ethnic group, recognized as National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2012 and 2014, respectively.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam - Head of Cao Lan Club of Phu Thinh commune said that the Tac Sinh dance recreates the beauty in the cultural life and the beauty in the labor of the Cao Lan ethnic people. The movements are simple but still have their own characteristics, not mixed or intermingled.

Since 2014, Ha Thuong commune has collected, restored, and built a corner displaying Cao Lan ethnic culture at the Suoi Cat hamlet cultural house (Ha Thuong).

The exhibition corner has preserved over 20 artifacts about the material and spiritual life of the Cao Lan people, such as production tools, daily living items, traditional costumes, and residential maps of the Cao Lan people. Thereby, it contributes significantly to helping the younger generation, neighboring communities and tourists understand more about the cultural values ​​of the Cao Lan people, the cultural quintessence cultivated over thousands of years.

The launch of the Club is not the beginning but an important next step in the journey of preserving culture, connecting the community and realizing the goal of developing community tourism, promoting ethnic minority and mountainous tourism activities in Thai Nguyen province. So that the songs and dances of the Cao Lan people not only resound during festivals but also become familiar melodies in daily life, spreading the unique cultural values ​​of the Cao Lan people to the public and tourists.
