III. TOPICS, CONTENT, REQUIREMENTS, AND GENRES OF JOURNALISTS
1. Topic
"Simple but noble examples".
2. Content
Discover and honor typical individuals who are Vietnamese citizens, foreigners studying, working, living in Vietnam of all backgrounds, ages, and occupations, who do ordinary daily work but bring high value and efficiency, creating positive changes in each agency, unit, and field of work; people who always try to overcome circumstances and fate, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, put the interests of the country, the interests of the nation-people and the community above all.
3. Requirements for entries
- Contest entries ensure accuracy and persuasiveness.
- The issues raised in the article must be real people, real events, with clear addresses.
- The entries do not violate the Press Law, Intellectual Property Law, and have no copyright disputes.
- Before and during the contest, the article must not be published in other newspapers and magazines, including social networks; the author is responsible for copyright.
4. Journalism genre
- Journalistic notes, reports, investigative reports, reflections, notes.
- Contest entries are articles, which can be one article or a series of articles (a series of no more than 3 articles); each article must not exceed 1,800 words.
- The work must have accompanying press photos related to the character, appropriate to the article's topic; do not use illustrative photos.
IV. TIME
1. Time for receiving entries
From September 26, 2025 to August 31, 2026 (calculated by the time of sending email or by the postmark on the envelope).
2. Time for summarizing and awarding prizes
Expected to summarize and award in October 2026.
V. PRIZE STRUCTURE
* There are 16 prizes in total, including:
- 1 A prize, certificate, souvenir cup and bonus of 30 million VND/prize.
- 2 B prizes, certificate, souvenir cup and bonus of 20 million VND/prize.
- 3 third prizes, certificate, souvenir cup and bonus of 10 million VND/prize.
- 10 Consolation prizes, certificates, souvenir cups and a bonus of 5 million VND/prize.
- The character (in the winning work) will be awarded a certificate of honor, a souvenir cup and a bonus of 10 million VND/character.
VI. CONTEST METHOD
1. Each author can submit an unlimited number of entries.
2. How to submit entries
- Send by post: To the address of the People's Army Newspaper, No. 7 Phan Dinh Phung, Hanoi ; clearly write on the envelope: Journalistic work participating in the 17th Writing Contest "Simple but Noble Examples" (2025-2026).

3. Select and upload works
- Good quality works will be selected by the Organizing Committee of the contest to be published in the People's Army Newspaper (Daily People's Army Newspaper, Weekend People's Army Newspaper, Events and Witnesses Monthly Magazine and Electronic People's Army Newspaper) to participate in judging, awarding prizes and selected to be printed in the book "Simple but noble examples", belonging to the book series "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style".
- Only judge and consider awarding prizes for works published in the People's Army Newspaper.
- Works published in the People's Army Newspaper are paid royalties according to current regulations.
- Information about the author must clearly state full name, pen name (if any), address, occupation, and contact phone number.
- The Organizing Committee does not consider and award works written about collectives; the author's manuscript will not be returned.
