More than 1,500 billion VND for National Target Programs in Quang Nam

In recent times, along with the implementation of the National Target Programs, Quang Nam province has issued many specific mechanisms and policies to support the poor and people in difficult circumstances, creating sustainable livelihoods to help people escape poverty. By the end of 2024, the total implementation capital (including capital extended in 2022 and 2023) is nearly 1,502 billion VND.

According to data from the Quang Nam Provincial Ethnic Committee at the Conference summarizing ethnic work in 2024 and deploying tasks for 2025. In 2024, the socio -economic situation in mountainous areas continues to stabilize and develop, and people's lives have many positive changes. Average income per capita reaches 24.1 million VND/year, an increase of nearly 4 million VND compared to 2020.

As a result of the National Target Program (NTPP) on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, by the end of 2024, the total implementation capital (including capital for 2022 and 2023) is nearly 1,502 billion VND, of which investment capital is more than 584 billion VND, and public capital is more than 917 billion VND.

The whole province has built 313 lists of construction works of all kinds, converted jobs for 735 workers; provided support for temporary housing elimination for 512 households, arranged stable residence for 576 households, the poverty rate among ethnic minorities is more than 3% each year.

Up to now, there are 93 agencies, units, localities, and enterprises that have accepted to be twinned with 67 communes in ethnic minority areas - mountainous, border, and mainland areas; 9 districts, towns, and cities in the plains have been twinned with 7 mountainous districts and have sponsored 21 communes of the province. In 2024, the total value of support and investment will be nearly 23.9 billion VND.

The parties connect and coordinate to participate in the twinning, propose needs, call for and attract resources, prioritize the implementation of building, maintaining, developing and replicating collective economic development models such as supporting pig and cow breeding, growing vegetables, planting forests for timber, medicinal plants, etc. with a total budget of nearly 5 billion VND.

In addition, the units and localities have focused on providing specific support to households with housing difficulties, and providing additional support for people to purchase and complete houses with a cost of more than 4 billion VND.

In addition, support in the form of gifts for people in difficulty, policy families, near-poor households, prestigious village elders, students and people in difficulty during the Lunar New Year, on the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of the industry, Party Committee of communes, villages... with a budget of more than 4.4 billion VND.

Units and businesses support the installation of solar power systems to light up rural roads, build classrooms, provide bicycles, 4G equipment, etc.; support the construction of grassroots political systems in many suitable and practical forms with resources of billions of dong.

Also from the investment resources and support of the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, urgent needs of the people, especially in terms of production life, arrangement and stabilization of population, job conversion... have been clearly improved, contributing to the goal of sustainable poverty reduction.
