(GLO)- According to the source from Cong Thuong Newspaper, website giatieu.com, domestic pepper prices on June 28 decreased from 1.5 million VND to 2 million VND/ton compared to last week in key growing areas across the country, ranging from 68.5 million VND to 71.5 million VND/ton.

Specifically, after adjusting down 2 million VND/ton, pepper price in Gia Lai was purchased at 68.5 million VND/ton.

With a similar decrease, pepper prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces were purchased by traders at 69.5 million VND/ton.

Meanwhile, with a decrease of VND1.5 million/ton, pepper in Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces is priced at VND70 million/ton and VND71.5 million/ton, respectively.

In Binh Phuoc province, pepper is being purchased at 70.5 million VND/ton (down 2 million VND).

In the world market, at the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Vietnamese black pepper at 3,600 USD/ton; the price of white pepper at 5,000 USD/ton.

The General Department of Customs said that from June 1 to 15, Vietnam exported 10,450 tons of pepper worth 38.33 million USD (down 31.9% in volume and 24.6% in value compared to the same period in May 2023).
