Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen, Pham Dong Thuy, said that standard Vietnamese pronunciation is the foundation for preserving the purity of the Vietnamese language, building a standard school environment and improving the quality of comprehensive education.
According to Mr. Thuy, a survey at educational institutions in the area showed that L-N confusion is common, especially in preschool and primary schools, affecting students' language ability, learning outcomes and confidence.
To overcome this, the Department has issued a plan for the period 2025-2030 for all staff, teachers and students. In the period 2025-2026, 80% of teachers and 50% of students are expected to significantly improve their pronunciation and spelling errors. By the period 2027-2030, 100% of teachers will have standard pronunciation and 80% of students will no longer make mistakes when speaking and writing.
At the workshop, Dr. Luong Thi Hien, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi National University of Education, shared basic scientific knowledge, answered questions and proposed appropriate training methods for each level, helping teachers apply them effectively in teaching practice.
