According to WCCF Tech, Apple's low-cost iPhone SE 4 will be released earlier than expected and is highly anticipated. There is information that Apple's suppliers will start mass production of the iPhone SE 4 in December, in preparation for a launch early next year.
The launch of the iPhone SE 4 will come with a lot of surprises. The low-cost smartphone will have 8 GB of RAM, similar to the iPhone 16 series, and this is an essential upgrade as Apple wants to bring Apple Intelligence to all its devices. The source of the iPhone SE 4 mass production in December comes from analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, via a Medium blog post.
When a device enters mass production, it means that all of its research or development stages have been completed and the design of the device has been finalized. It was previously reported that the SE 4 is expected to come with a 6.1-inch OLED display, which is a big step up from the older 4.7-inch display on the SE 3. It will also ditch Touch ID in favor of Face ID, marking the end of the traditional touch-based authentication system and home button.
It remains to be seen whether the company will integrate the A18 chip like the iPhone 16 or the A17 Pro chip into the product, like the iPad mini 7. It is likely that Apple will try to equip the iPhone SE 4 with the latest internal components, to extend the product upgrade cycle as long as possible. The increased RAM capacity and the new A18 processor will allow the device to enhance Apple Intelligence features, making the iPhone SE 4 the cheapest Apple iPhone to support the flagship features of iOS 18.
Given the timing of the iPhone SE 4 mass production plan, Apple is likely to launch the device in the spring. The company usually announces new products in March or April with various updates, and it seems the iPhone SE 4 will be included in the list. According to Kuo, Apple will ship around 8.6 million SE 4 units in the first quarter of next year.
