Iran claims to have created a hypersonic missile with a range of up to 1,400 km

Iranian state television reported that the missile, called "Fattah", or "Conqueror", has a range of up to 1,400 km. The hypersonic missile is capable of traveling at 15 times the speed of sound.

According to a broadcast by Iran's state television, the Fattah missile can overcome any missile defense system in the region.

The broadcast showed a model of a hypersonic missile being presented to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps currently possesses a huge arsenal of ballistic missiles.

Last November, General Amir Ali Hajizadeh of the Revolutionary Guards claimed that Iran had created a hypersonic missile but did not provide specific evidence.

According to this person, hypersonic weapons flying at hypersonic speeds - five times faster than the speed of sound (Mach 5), can pose significant challenges to missile defense systems because of their speed and maneuverability.

China and the US are said to be pursuing hypersonic weapons. Meanwhile, Russia claims to have deployed hypersonic weapons and said Moscow has used them on the battlefield in Ukraine.
