Luxury hotels catch the 'idol' wave

Along with the forecast given by Mordor Intelligence about the growth rate at a compound rate of 6.67%, expected to reach 10.75 billion USD by 2030 for the MICE industry in Vietnam, the wave of 'following idols' - attending concerts is also a trend that makes luxury hotels have more confidence in the market.

In the context of the MICE market gradually shifting from the traditional meeting model to an integrated experience, what do you think is the most significant change from the current customer side and what does Sheraton Hanoi West do to stay ahead of this trend?

- Mr. Joon Park : A prominent trend that we have seen from our MICE clients today is the growing demand for holistic experiences, where events are more than just meetings but become a complete journey. Clients are looking for more than just a location, they want an inspiring space, a harmonious combination of work and relaxation, advanced technology and emotional connection.

At Sheraton Hanoi West, we embrace the concept of “bleisure in the heart of the city”, offering event spaces that are not only technologically advanced but also flexible in functionality. With advanced sound and lighting systems, interactive LED screens and integrated online meeting platforms, our facilities are ready to meet all needs. In addition, we also integrate entertainment and cultural elements into diverse themed MICE packages.

Most importantly, personalization is at the core of our service. From bespoke event planning, space planning to unique guest experience design, every detail is meticulously taken care of to ensure that each event at Sheraton Hanoi West becomes a memorable and meaningful one - true to the Sheraton brand promise: "Where the world meets".

As a hotel located in an area with rapidly developing infrastructure and services in the capital but quite far from the center, how do you evaluate the potential of the west of Hanoi - especially My Dinh? Can this area become a new center of MICE tourism ?

- Sheraton Hanoi West is proud to be an international hotel located in the heart of My Dinh - a potential and rapidly developing area of Hanoi . We are honored to witness and contribute to the impressive development taking place in the west of the capital.

In recent years, the area, especially My Dinh, has attracted a large amount of investment in modern infrastructure and convenient transport links to Noi Bai International Airport. The growing presence of multinational corporations, the National Convention Center and dense urban areas have created a solid foundation for the area to become an ideal choice for large-scale conferences, exhibitions, business forums and incentive programs.

In contrast to the city center which often faces lack of space and traffic congestion, My Dinh district stands out for its openness, flexibility and comprehensive service ecosystem, fully meeting the increasingly diverse needs of domestic and foreign MICE tourists.

Sheraton Hanoi West features modern facilities and diverse event spaces.

At Sheraton Hanoi West, we offer modern facilities and a variety of event spaces, including a 400m2 Ballroom and a garden area that can accommodate up to 300 guests. Committed to providing an outstanding Sheraton experience, we believe that the hotel is not only an ideal location for MICE events but also plays a key role in shaping My Dinh district as the new MICE hub of Hanoi in the near future.

Mordor Intelligence forecasts that the MICE industry in Vietnam could reach 7.79 billion USD by 2025 and continue to grow at a compound rate of 6.67%, reaching 10.75 billion USD by 2030. What strategy does Sheraton Hanoi West have to "get ahead" of the wave of MICE tourism growth?

- To keep up with the general development pace, Sheraton Hanoi West has identified MICE as a key strategic pillar in its long-term development orientation. Our roadmap focuses on three main areas: First, building specialized service packages for each segment. We develop tailor-made event packages that harmoniously combine relaxation, cuisine and cultural experiences - to bring more value to attendees.

Second, we focus on investing in technology and large-scale event organization capacity. The hotel is constantly upgrading its conference infrastructure, applying modern technology and expanding its indoor and outdoor event space.

Finally, we establish sustainable partnerships across the ecosystem. We actively cooperate with tourism associations, MICE agents, travel companies and multinational corporations in Vietnam to build a solid value chain and expand our strategic customer network.

Sheraton Hanoi West is one of the hotels with the largest room fund in Hanoi.

In addition to MICE tourism, "idol chasing", attending concerts of international artists to domestic programs are leading to a surge in demand for accommodation and services. With a location almost "on the front line" near the stadium, what notable changes has Sheraton Hanoi West recorded from this group of guests?

- Every concert at My Dinh Stadium creates a strong ripple effect throughout the hospitality industry, and with its prime location, Sheraton Hanoi West is often one of the first to feel this positive impact.

This wave not only reflects the growing demand for entertainment, but also shows the great potential of the cultural industry in Vietnam. The Government has identified this as a strategic pillar in the Cultural Development Strategy to 2030, with the orientation of viewing culture as an important driving force for sustainable economic growth.

At recent large-scale events featuring international artists such as Blackpink, Westlife and Coldplay, as well as Vietnamese music hits such as "Anh Trai Say Hi" and "Soobin Live Concert", we have seen some notable trends such as: Room occupancy rates have increased significantly during the season; the number of guests is younger and more diverse, mostly domestic. In addition, we can see an increasing demand for a comprehensive experience: guests are not only looking for accommodation but also expect a wide range of F&B services, convenient transportation, pre- and post-event lounge areas, and memorable local activities.

We believe that when culture, tourism and the hospitality industry come together in harmony, the benefits extend beyond individual hotels - they contribute to enhancing the image and experience of the entire city.

How has Sheraton Hanoi West proactively organized operations and designed services to ensure it does not miss this "golden opportunity"?

- Sheraton Hanoi West has 510 rooms - one of the largest room funds in Hanoi, so it can meet the sudden increase in demand during these seasons.

In terms of service, for each concert, we design accommodation packages and small events exclusively for fans, creating a space for them to interact with like-minded souls and enjoy the post-concert emotions.

Operationally, we work closely internally across departments and with event organizers in advance to ensure artist safety, privacy and comfort, while still providing a seamless experience for attendees and guests.
