Opening of Chi Linh Son Festival 2024

On the evening of April 19, at the Nang Cat - Ma Hao Waterfall Community Ecotourism Area, Lang Chanh District People's Committee solemnly organized the Chi Linh Son Festival 2024 and the art program "Echoes of Chi Linh Son" to celebrate the 606th anniversary of the Lam Son uprising and the 591st anniversary of the death of National Hero Le Loi.

606 years ago, in the spring of Mau Tuat year 1418, Le Loi raised the flag of uprising against the invading Ming invaders in Lam Son mountain forest. On the way to repel the Ming invaders, the insurgents encountered countless difficulties, especially in the early stages of the uprising. Due to the disproportionate forces, the insurgents often had to endure the sweeping attacks of the Ming invaders, greatly depleting their forces. Faced with the siege and relentless search of the Ming army, Le Loi decided to withdraw all of his insurgent forces from Lam Son land and advance deeper into the Chi Linh mountain area. Being fiercely surrounded by the enemy in order to capture the commander Le Loi, Le Lai changed his clothes and risked his life to save his lord, disguised himself as "Lord Lam Son" and led 500 soldiers and two war elephants to attack the Ming army. The Ming invaders captured Le Lai, thinking it was Le Loi, so they withdrew their troops, then punished Le Lai with extremely cruel punishments, Le Lai sacrificed himself. Thanks to that heroic sacrifice, Le Loi and his army were relieved and continued to prepare the necessary conditions for a long-term fight against the Ming army.

The Chi Linh mountains and forests with their rugged terrain were the refuge of Le Loi and his army three times in 1418, 1419, and 1422. This was also the time when the Lam Son army was in dire straits, with fewer and fewer troops, and a shortage of food. It was a period of "tasting honey and lying on thorns" to preserve and restore their forces. During this time, Le Loi and the Lam Son army, along with the Chi Linh mountains and forests and ethnic people in the Lang Chanh area, supported each other, sharing the same fate and hardships in fighting against the enemy.

Chi Linh - Lang Chanh became a beautiful symbol of the spirit of enduring sacrifice and hardship, the determination to liberate the nation. In 1428, the Lam Son uprising won, ending the domination of the Ming invaders, the country was liberated, the nation was independent. In the heroic atmosphere of the victory day, Le Loi read the "Binh Ngo Dai Cao" summarizing the war, affirming the national sovereignty of a nation with thousands of years of history. In that war, the mountains, forests, rivers and people of Lang Chanh contributed an extremely important part to the great victory.

The Chi Linh Son Festival and the "Echoes of Chi Linh Son" Art Program are an opportunity for generations of descendants to remember and pay tribute to the great contributions of Emperor Le Loi and the Lam Son heroes who fought off the invading Ming army and regained the country.
