Opening of the Hanoi Open Theatre Festival 2024

(Fatherland) - On the evening of November 1, the 2024 Hanoi Open Theatre Festival, organized by the Vietnam Theatre Artists Association in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports , opened at the Workers' Theater, Hanoi. The festival is a large-scale cultural and artistic activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Festival, People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, affirmed: Hanoi, a thousand years of civilization, has always been the pride of Hanoians in particular and the people of the whole country in general. The heroic spirit and intelligence of Thang Long, the unique gallantry and elegance of Hanoi... have long been a strong source of inspiration for literature and art.

According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, the 2024 Hanoi Open Stage Festival with the participation of art units in the genres of drama, cheo, ca luong, puppetry... not only aims to educate and promote the patriotic tradition, the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Hanoi throughout the journey of fighting, building and developing the heroic capital, the city for peace , but also an opportunity for art units to exchange and learn about academics, artistic creativity skills, to constantly improve professional qualifications, build works of high ideological value and artistic quality, meeting the expectations of the audience in the trend of integration and development.

In his welcoming speech at the Festival, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Pham Xuan Tai said: Over the years, Hanoi has always paid attention to investing and creating mechanisms for artists to freely create. Hanoi has been and is a typical bright spot in the field of theater nationwide, with many typical and unique works serving all classes of people.

Entering its 6th season, the Festival has shaped the brand of the capital city of Hanoi. The 2024 Hanoi Open Stage Festival attracts the participation of 12 art units (Hanoi Drama Theater, Vietnam Opera House, Vietnam Tuong Theater, Hai Phong Cheo Theater, Bac Giang Cheo Theater, Army Cheo Theater, Thang Long Puppetry Theater, Youth Theater, Vietnam Puppetry Theater, Hanoi Opera House, Hanoi Cheo Theater, Lucteam Stage), bringing 12 outstanding stage works.

Immediately after the Opening Ceremony, artists from the Hanoi Drama Theatre opened the Festival with the play: "Space". The remaining plays will be performed at the Workers' Theatre, Dai Nam Theatre and other theatres in Hanoi.

The 2024 Hanoi Open Theatre Festival will close on the evening of November 9 at Dai Nam Theater, Hanoi./.
