Urgent response to floods in border areas

Due to prolonged heavy rains combined with the discharge of floodwater from Ea Sup Thuong Lake, on September 7, many areas in the border communes of Ia Lop and Ia Rve were deeply flooded and partially isolated. The Ea H'Leo and Ia Rve Border Guard Stations (Dak Lak Border Guard Command) urgently deployed response measures to ensure people's safety.

In Ia Lop commune, many roads and residential areas in the area were isolated by floodwaters. Ea H'Leo Border Guard Station deployed forces and vehicles to coordinate with local Party committees, authorities, Police, Military and Economic - Defense Group 737 (Military Region 5) to organize propaganda for people in flooded areas to move to safe places; at the same time, set up blockades at flooded roads, put up warning signs, and instructed people to strictly comply with disaster prevention and control measures, and not to move through deep and dangerous flooded areas. Assigned forces to be on duty at key flooded points, ready to support and rescue when necessary.

In Ia Rve commune, the flooding situation is serious: the underground area from village 10 to village 11 is flooded about 3 meters deep; National Highway 14C, Ea H'leo river bridge section is flooded 2.9 meters; the road from the intersection of village 6 to village 9 is flooded 0.6 meters; the road from village 13 to Ea Rok commune is flooded 0.9 meters; underground 1 (patrol road to Station 739) is flooded with strong currents, about 1 meter deep. Many areas are isolated, making travel difficult, posing a potential risk of insecurity.

Faced with this situation, Ia Rve Border Guard Station mobilized forces to coordinate with the militia, commune and village police, organized guard duty, put up danger warning signs, deployed response measures, and was ready to rescue when necessary. The units strictly implemented the instructions of their superiors, putting the principle of ensuring people's safety first.

Authorities and local authorities are continuing to review and assess the extent of damage to promptly have plans to support the people.
