Khanh Hoa successfully organized a tourism promotion conference in Italy.

As part of the investment, trade and tourism promotion program in 2025, on the afternoon of October 6, in Milan, Italy, Khanh Hoa province organized a tourism promotion conference to introduce the potential, strengths and tourism products of Khanh Hoa to Italian businesses and partners. This is the key activity of the working trip to Italy and Switzerland of the Khanh Hoa province delegation to connect and attract investment, promote tourism, and create opportunities for business cooperation between the two sides.

Attending the conference were comrades: Nguyen Khac Toan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province; Tran Thu Mai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Trinh Minh Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Italy - Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CCIV), Milan City Business Association, and 80 delegates representing businesses from Italy and Khanh Hoa province.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan emphasized that Khanh Hoa is known as the place of "agarwood forests, bird's nest seas", a land blessed by nature with rich, diverse and beautiful resources. With a coastline of nearly 500km, more than 200 large and small islands, majestic mountain ranges, vast vineyards and a typical dry forest ecosystem, Khanh Hoa possesses many famous landscapes with unique historical and cultural values. With that advantage, Khanh Hoa has become one of the leading tourist centers in Vietnam, loved by many international tourists. The clearest evidence is that in 2024, the province welcomed 4.8 million international visitors, and in the first 9 months of 2025, it welcomed 4.1 million international visitors. Cam Ranh International Airport has risen to be in the top 4 busiest and most modern international airports in Vietnam, with an increasing number of direct international flights to Korea, China, Thailand, Singapore, Russia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan...

In the new development process, Khanh Hoa identifies industry, energy and tourism as breakthrough pillars. Regarding tourism, the province focuses on affirming the position of Nha Trang, Van Phong, Cam Ranh, Vinh Hy, Ninh Chu as international destinations; striving to make tourism a spearhead economic sector, accounting for over 15% of GRDP and 20% of budget revenue by 2030. Italy is identified as one of the extremely potential markets. "If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together. We hope that through today's program, Italian tourism businesses will understand more about Khanh Hoa, connect and cooperate to build attractive tourism programs", Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Toan emphasized.

Also at the conference, provincial leaders shared about the development orientation of high-tech industry, semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence, ocean technology, associated with the construction of a national data center. Regarding energy, the province strongly develops wind power, solar power, LNG power and prepares infrastructure for nuclear power projects; building Khanh Hoa into a national energy center.

Italian businesses interested in Khanh Hoa tourism

Within the framework of the conference, Khanh Hoa province screened a tourism introduction video, presented an overview of provincial tourism; displayed products and promotional publications with images of high-end resorts in Nha Trang, Bai Dai, and Van Phong. Mr. Truong Van Tien - Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion emphasized the strengths of Khanh Hoa's coastal resort tourism. Currently, the whole province has 1,444 accommodation establishments with more than 71,110 rooms, of which 106 are 3-5 star establishments with 27,261 rooms (accounting for 40% of the total number of rooms). Entertainment services in Khanh Hoa are also diverse and rich, from art shows to sea sports.

Vietnam Airlines representative in Italy spoke about the potential to attract Italian tourists.

Italian tourism business representatives are interested in bringing tourists to Khanh Hoa for vacation.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Dang Minh Tung - Chief Representative of Vietnam Airlines in Italy said that currently the Milan - Hanoi route has a frequency of 3 flights/week, and in the near future it may increase to 5 flights/week. This is a favorable condition to attract tourists to Khanh Hoa through connecting flights. Representatives of Milan travel agencies are interested in the flight route, how to check luggage when flying from Milan - Hanoi - Cam Ranh; entertainment services and incentives for famtrip groups. Ms. Selena Pizzocoli - Representative of the Milan City Business Association highly appreciated the information provided by the province and will introduce it to the Milan Business Association to learn about investment. Having been to Nha Trang many times, Grand Master Zucca Ricacardo - Director of International Diplomatic Relations of the Fiwuk National Martial Arts Federation hopes to receive support from the Khanh Hoa government to bring traditional martial arts athletes to compete, combined with sightseeing and relaxation. Some businesses said that Italians do not know much about Khanh Hoa tourism, so to attract customers, they must promote and choose products that suit Italian customers' tastes...

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang emphasized that Vietnam and Italy have a long-standing cooperative relationship, especially in the field of tourism. In the first 9 months of 2025, Khanh Hoa welcomed more than 4.1 million international visitors but only more than 3,500 Italian visitors due to traffic difficulties. With Vietnam Airlines opening the Hanoi - Milan route, it has created conditions for connecting flights to Khanh Hoa, promoting two-way tourism cooperation. "With impressive results and outstanding potential, I believe Khanh Hoa will become an ideal choice, an attractive destination for Italian tourists in the near future," Mr. Trinh Minh Hoang affirmed.
