Hamas official Mohammed Nazzal said on October 2 that the group is discussing President Trump’s proposal to end the conflict in Gaza. Hamas said it would respond to the proposal soon, Al Jazeera reported on October 2.
"Hamas, as the representative of the Palestinian resistance movement, has the right to express its views in a way that serves the interests of the Palestinian people," Nazzal stressed.

On October 2, President Trump set a deadline of 3 to 4 days for Hamas to respond to the proposal.
The White House said Mr Trump hoped Hamas would accept his proposal on Gaza, adding that the US president could warn of consequences if the group did not.
According to Al Jazeera , Palestinians want the conflict to end, but many believe the proposal is too favorable to Israel.
In previous talks, Hamas has insisted that Israel must withdraw completely from the Gaza Strip, expressing that it is seeking a permanent ceasefire, with guarantees that displaced families can return home, especially in northern Gaza, where Israeli forces have intensified attacks.
Earlier, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said he was working with Qatar and Turkey to persuade Hamas to accept Mr. Trump's proposal.
