Launching 4 wind power plant projects to welcome the 1st Congress of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee

On the morning of September 28, at Truong Long Hoa ward, Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE) and Truong Thanh Vietnam Group to organize the launching ceremony of 4 wind power projects including: V1-2 expansion, V1-3 phase 2, V1-5, V1-6 phase 2 and Dong Hai 3 (location V3-3).

Provincial leaders and delegates attended the launching ceremony.

This is one of the activities to welcome the 1st Congress of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Ngo Chi Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the XVth term of Vinh Long province; Ho Thi Hoang Yen - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Minh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Lu Quang Ngoi - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Van Han - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Lam Minh Dang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and leaders of provincial departments and branches; retired officials and enterprises.

Provincial leaders and investors performed the project launch ceremony.

The total capacity of the four projects is 224 MW, with an investment of more than VND 11,284 billion, expected to be completed and put into commercial operation in the fourth quarter of 2026. Once operational, the projects will provide about 718 million kWh per year, contributing to ensuring energy security, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, creating jobs for about 500 workers and increasing local budget revenue by about VND 115 billion per year.

Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the launching ceremony.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Vinh Long currently has a total commercial power capacity of 5,414 MW. Of which, there are 13 wind power plants with a capacity of 572.1 MW.

The province has the potential for about 45 renewable energy projects with a total capacity of about 3,855 MW, especially coastal and offshore wind power. With a synchronous transmission infrastructure and a coastline of more than 130 km, Vinh Long is oriented by the National Assembly to become a national renewable energy center in the future.

The province is committed to creating all favorable conditions for investors to effectively deploy and develop sustainably, contributing to realizing the goals of green growth and national energy transition.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh - Chairwoman of Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE) and Truong Thanh Vietnam Group (right) presented the scholarship fund to the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education.
