Prosecution of group of tourists' property thieves

On October 4, information from the Investigation Police Agency of Chi Linh City ( Hai Duong ) said that this unit has decided to prosecute 3 cases, prosecute and temporarily detain 3 suspects who committed the act of stealing property of tourists visiting historical sites, tourist attractions, and entertainment venues in the area.

The 3 suspects prosecuted by the Chi Linh City Police Department include: Le Thi Tuan (79 years old, residing in Phu Van commune, Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province); Nguyen Thi Huong (47 years old, residing in Nam Phong commune, Nam Dinh city, Nam Dinh province) and Nguyen Thi Lien (51 years old, residing in Lam Son ward, Thanh Hoa city, Thanh Hoa province).

Of the three defendants, Le Thi Tuan has 13 previous convictions for theft and receiving property obtained through criminal acts. The remaining two defendants both have previous convictions for theft.

At the police station, all three suspects confessed that they knew that Chi Linh City was organizing many cultural activities during this time, so they took a bus to Hanoi , then continued to take a bus from Hanoi to Chi Linh City.

Here, the suspects continuously moved to different locations, taking advantage of crowded places and people's carelessness, subjectivity, and lack of vigilance to pickpocket and steal property. The property that these suspects appropriated included cash and 2 mobile phones with a total value of over 40 million VND.

The Chi Linh City Police Department is continuing to investigate and clarify the cases to handle them according to regulations.
