Air Force sends helicopters to rescue flood-hit northern areas

At 9:30 a.m. this morning, September 12, helicopters of Air Force Regiment 916, Air Force Division 371, Air Defense - Air Force Service took off to perform search and rescue missions, dropping food, life-saving equipment and supplies to isolated areas in the northern mountainous region.

The helicopters took off from Hoa Lac military airport (Hanoi), landed to load cargo at Gia Lam military airport (Hanoi), the first flight will land in Nguyen Binh district (Cao Bang) scheduled at noon today.

The helicopter squadron on duty included Mi-171 helicopter number SAR 03, piloted by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hoang (Deputy Political Commissar of Air Force Regiment 916) as main pilot 1 and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Truan (Squadron Leader of Squadron 2) as main pilot 2.
