Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB ) has just increased interest rates for short-term deposits from 1-5 months from today, an increase of 0.2%/year.

Accordingly, the online deposit interest rate for 1-2 month term at SHB is increased to 3.5%/year, while the interest rate for 3-5 month term also increases to 3.6%/year.

SHB keeps the interest rates unchanged for the remaining terms: 6-8 month term has an interest rate of 4.7%/year, 9-11 month term is listed at 4.8%/year.

From the deposit term of 12 months or more, SHB interest rates are listed at over 5%/year (from May 2024). The bank interest rate for 12-month term announced by SHB is 5.2%/year, 13-15 month terms have interest rates of 5.3%/year, 18-month term is 5.5%/year, 24-month term is 5.8%/year.

The highest mobilization interest rate listed by SHB is up to 6.1%/year, applied for terms of 36 months or more.

Besides SHB, some banks are listing deposit interest rates from 6%/year or higher, focusing on long terms.

Specifically, BVBank pays an interest rate of 6%/year for 18-36 month term deposits; OCB also applies this interest rate for 36 month term deposits; HDBank pays an interest rate of 6.1%/year for 18 month term deposits; NCB and OceanBank both pay an interest rate of 6.1%/year for 18-36 month term deposits; SHB pays an interest rate of 6.1%/year for term deposits of 36 months or more; and ABBank pays the highest interest rate of 6.2%/year for 12 month term deposits.

SeABank pays 6% interest per year for 18-36 month term deposits with deposits from 100 million to under 500 million VND. For deposits from 3 billion or more, the interest rate is up to 6.2% per year.

SHB is the only bank adjusting interest rates this morning, bringing the total number of commercial banks that have increased interest rates since the beginning of July to 18, including: NCB, Eximbank, SeABank, VIB, BaoViet Bank, Saigonbank, VietBank, MB, BVBank, KienLong Bank, VPBank, PVCombank, PGBank, Sacombank, BIDV, ABBank, Bac A Bank and SHB.

Of which, VietBank is the only bank to have increased interest rates for the third time since the beginning of the month; Saigonbank, ABBank and VIB also increased deposit interest rates for the second time this month.
