On this occasion, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu gave an interview about the results of the working trip.

Deputy Minister, could you please tell us about the outstanding results of President Luong Cuong's working trip to China from September 2-4 to attend the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism and work?

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu: President Luong Cuong's working trip to attend the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism and work in China was a great success. The Chinese Party and State gave President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation a solemn, thoughtful, comradely and brotherly welcome. In general, President Luong Cuong's working trip achieved two outstanding results.

Firstly, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the world's people over fascism is a tribute to a victory of epochal significance, demonstrating international solidarity for peace and justice, leading to the end of unjust wars, creating favorable conditions for the national liberation movements of countries, including Vietnam, opening a new era of peace and development in the world.

The presence of the President and the Vietnamese delegation at the ceremony affirmed the spirit of peace-loving, the will to fight for peace and justice of the Vietnamese people throughout history, as well as the consistent viewpoint and policy of the Party and State of Vietnam on continuing to closely cooperate with the international community, contributing responsibly to peace, stability and cooperation in the region as well as in the world, not allowing past tragedies to recur.

At the ceremony, President Luong Cuong met with many traditional friends and important partners of Vietnam, proposed many cooperation ideas and expressed gratitude for the international community's support and companionship to Vietnam in the context of Vietnam solemnly celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

Second, the working trip continued to deepen the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance. President Luong Cuong had a very successful meeting with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, and met and attended a reception hosted by Chairman of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji.

Leaders of the two Parties and two countries had friendly, sincere and effective exchanges, identifying many important measures to continue realizing high-level common perceptions, focusing on further enhancing political trust, promoting substantive cooperation, close multilateral coordination, properly handling disagreements, enhancing humanistic exchanges, and working towards stable, healthy and sustainable development of bilateral relations.

President Luong Cuong also met with the families of a number of advisors, generals, and Chinese and Vietnamese friendship figures who had contributed to the past struggle against colonialism for national independence, such as General Nguyen Son, General Vi Quoc Thanh, General Tran Canh, and Academician Nguyen Khanh Toan, expressing his appreciation for the traditional friendship and mutual assistance between the two Parties and two countries, and encouraging the families of these friendship figures to continue to "pass on the torch" to future generations, strengthening the increasingly strong friendship between the two countries.

Could you please tell us about the directions for implementing the results achieved in the upcoming meetings with senior Chinese leaders?

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu: In the coming time, the two sides agreed to continue to closely coordinate to effectively implement these results, with a focus that can be summarized by "3 foundations" that need to be strengthened: political foundation, material foundation and social foundation.

In terms of political foundation, the two sides will continue to strengthen strategic coordination and consolidate political trust. The two sides will maintain regular high-level strategic exchanges and comprehensive cooperation through the Party, State, Government, National Assembly/National People's Congress, Fatherland Front/CPPCC channels from central to local levels and in key areas such as diplomacy, defense, and public security; promote common points, properly handle disagreements, jointly maintain a peaceful and stable environment; and create favorable conditions for a new era of development in each country and region. In the context of complex and volatile international and regional situations, posing many challenges to security and development, the two countries need to jointly promote multilateralism and coordinate with other countries for common interests.

In terms of material foundation, continue to deeply connect the two economies, creating new bright spots in all areas where both sides have strengths and needs such as agricultural trade, railway connection, cooperation in building large and typical projects, strengthening cooperation in science and technology, innovation, training of high-quality human resources, high-tech agriculture, and environmental protection.

Chinese leaders affirmed their willingness to continue expanding imports of Vietnamese goods and encourage high-quality investment. The common perception between the leaders of the two countries is to create opportunities for businesses and people of both sides to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, closely linking interests, thereby strengthening the “material foundation” for bilateral relations.

In terms of social foundation, the people of the two countries have a very high demand for exchange, travel, tourism, study and trade. Agencies of the two countries need to encourage and facilitate by opening more direct flights, facilitating visas, and enhancing cultural, educational and tourism cooperation. The two sides will increase people-to-people exchanges; continue to coordinate well in organizing activities during the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year, the Red Journey for youth research and study so that the young generation of the two countries can have a deeper understanding of the revolutionary red addresses, especially the relics of President Ho Chi Minh that are being preserved and embellished by the authorities and people of Chinese localities. The above activities will contribute to strengthening friendship and creating consensus among the people so that the relationship between the two countries can progress far and steadily.

In the coming time, the departments, ministries, branches and localities of the two countries will actively implement and concretize the high-level common awareness into specific achievements and projects, bringing practical benefits to the two countries and peoples, making positive contributions to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Thank you, Deputy Minister!
