The trip takes place at a very meaningful time when both Vietnam and the UN celebrate their 80th anniversary and Vietnam and the US celebrate the 30th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations.

Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang said that with nearly 70 diverse and effective activities, the President's working trip was a great success, achieving all set goals at a high level, leaving outstanding marks in many aspects, both multilaterally and bilaterally.

The working trip is a step in implementing Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, proactiveness, and comprehensive, deep, and effective international integration in the international arena.

According to Mr. Dang Hoang Giang, through the statements of countries at the high-level discussion session of the UN General Assembly, in the exchanges between countries with President Luong Cuong at the meetings, it can be clearly seen that peace, cooperation and development continue to be the common trend and the aspiration of people around the world.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that most countries continue to promote multilateralism in which the UN plays a leading role, the UN Charter and international law continue to be the "anchor" for countries to promote cooperation to solve common problems and protect national interests. This is an important foundation for countries, including ours, to maintain and strengthen a peaceful and stable environment and focus resources on development.

The messages of the President and the high-ranking delegation of Vietnam at the United Nations, a global multilateral forum, are among the positive voices supporting multilateralism, multilateral cooperation, and the central role of the United Nations, the United Nations Charter and international law in solving global issues.

The President's speeches to countries and international friends also brought to the world the story of Vietnam rising from the ashes of war and poverty to become a middle-income developing country with great potential, entering a new era, an era of strong, prosperous development.

According to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, it is very meaningful that Vietnam's commitments are not only in words but also in very practical and concrete actions such as continuing to be an active and responsible member in important UN mechanisms (UN Human Rights Council, International Law Commission, UNESCO agencies...), and chairing major multilateral activities of the UN.

On this occasion, Vietnam and Tuvalu signed a joint communiqué to establish diplomatic relations. Vietnam became one of the few countries to have diplomatic relations with all countries in the world and all members of the United Nations.

Regarding cooperation with the US, the President and the Vietnamese delegation also brought the message of "putting the past behind, overcoming differences, looking towards the future" in the context of the two countries celebrating 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations and 2 years of establishing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

"If the President's extremely emotional meetings with veterans of the two countries and friends and progressive people of the US clearly expressed the message of gratitude, healing and reconciliation after the war, then the President's meetings with the US government, the US Congress, state governments, businesses and large US corporations further reinforced optimism about the prospect of developing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, for the benefit of businesses and people of the two countries," Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang shared.

The Deputy Minister stated that following the results achieved during the President's working trip, it is necessary to carefully prepare and well organize the signing ceremony of the Cybercrime Convention next October.

The Deputy Minister said it is necessary to promote in-depth relations with countries and organizations through strengthening cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations as well as closely and regularly exchanging and cooperating on security, political, regional and international issues of common concern, effectively implementing commitments to maximize support and assistance from the international community and important partners in terms of resources, contributing to the country's development.

The Deputy Minister made it clear that with the US, it is necessary to maintain meetings and exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, and continue to promote cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, security, defense, science and technology, innovation, artificial intelligence, transportation, education and training, which are key areas of cooperation.

The two sides will also work together to resolve the consequences of the war, while continuing dialogue to resolve remaining differences.
