Speak straight - solve it quickly

Chaired by Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu, the September meeting of the startup community with the theme "Promoting market development and prioritizing the application of innovative startup products in Da Nang city" recorded dozens of comments and recommendations from business representatives.

In the frank and open spirit of the meeting, businesses boldly raised their difficulties, aspirations and proposed that city leaders support and resolve them.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Hao, Director of Danang Mechanical and Automation Solutions Company, shared that he learned about the program to meet city leaders through a friend. Currently, his company is renting land in 3 different areas in Danang city to develop mechanical and automation facilities.

However, due to rapid urbanization and increasingly crowded residential areas, these production facilities are no longer suitable for their current locations. Mr. Hao expressed his wish that the city would create conditions for him to rent a new site of more than 500 square meters to move and stabilize production.

Business representatives also frankly raised the difficulties in handling procedures and implementing projects. Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa, Director of Long Hoa Vegetarian Food Company Limited, stated: “Before the merger of Quang Nam and Da Nang, my company received a decision to lease land at Thanh Ha Industrial Park (Hoi An), but up to now, we have not been able to contact the land lease again, and there is no information on how to resolve it.”

Meanwhile, a furniture business headquartered in Huong Tra ward reported that it was difficult to carry out procedures for establishing a business and some business-related procedures, requiring many trips during the operation of the two-level local government.

The issues raised by businesses were answered and given specific instructions by representatives of the departments and branches at the program. Mr. Nguyen Tan Hai - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade suggested that businesses contact their affiliated units for instructions on procedures and land lease locations.

The representative of the City People's Committee Office suggested that Danang Mechanical and Automation Solutions Company research premises at some technology clusters in the area to arrange suitable production facilities.

In response to the information from the representative of Long Hoa Vegetarian Food Company Limited, Mr. Nguyen Tan Hai requested to meet directly with the business owner to find a solution. The representative of the Department of Finance pledged to review and re-examine the procedure to avoid similar problems.

The department representative also said that handling administrative procedures for people and businesses will be faster and more convenient when the city deploys the model of a one-level Public Administration Service Center.

Technology businesses offer advice

True to the theme "Promoting market development and prioritizing the application of innovative startup products", at the meeting, many businesses proposed that the City People's Committee and departments and branches boldly "test" and apply startup products, especially in the field of digital transformation and AI.

This is considered a pioneering step to affirm the government's trust, while opening up opportunities for innovative products to quickly reach the market and spread in the community.

Mr. Trinh Cong Duy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DTG Technology Investment Company (Digital Twin Group), said that DTG is a pioneer in developing Digital Twin and AI technology solutions in Da Nang. The company hopes to be allowed by the city to pilot the technologies in its ecosystem in one or two localities.

“We believe that the Digital Copy of the city is not a product but the destination of the digital transformation process. This is a long process, cannot be achieved in a day or two, requiring the city's accompaniment, priority, and support. In the coming time, we hope the city will create conditions for us to participate and pilot projects related to this field. We are ready to accompany the city's digital transformation ecosystem,” said Mr. Duy.

In addition, business representatives proposed many new ideas and wished to accompany the city in solving major local problems in high-tech agriculture, smart tourism, urban management, environment or digital transformation.

Notable are the ideas to develop science and technology and digital transformation. For example, the proposal to apply Pisen power storage devices to support commune and ward administrative centers to operate 24/7 to overcome power outages and power shortages in mountainous areas; piloting enterprise Tokenization at the International Finance Center to attract capital; or organizing an AI competition to attract technology companies to solve the city's problems and Zalo Mini App solutions for public administrative units.

“Joining hands” to apply Blockchain technology in agriculture

Within the framework of the meeting program with the startup community, delegates listened to the representative of RiseGate Joint Stock Company share about the solution of applying Blockchain technology in implementing the model of household farming and household planting to serve high-quality agriculture. Along with that, the representative of Lac Son Agricultural Cooperative (Son Loc village, Que Son commune, Da Nang city) introduced the project "Lac Son Online Farm", aiming to connect agricultural products with the consumer market through a digital platform. At the event, the two units signed a cooperation agreement, opening a new step in applying Blockchain technology to agriculture, thereby improving the quality of agricultural products and promoting sustainable development.

In the era of science and technology explosion, the business community proposed that the city establish a Danang Idea Page to receive good projects and ideas to serve the city's development.

Regarding the city leaders' desire to effectively apply AI, technology businesses said: as long as the city gives the "problem", the business community will be ready to work together to solve it.

Mr. Le Son Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, said that the department is consulting to implement practical support mechanisms and policies, creating conditions for start-up businesses to bring products to the market, especially through the city's public ordering and procurement programs.

The Department is synthesizing proposals and needs of departments, branches and localities in applying AI; from there, it will connect with businesses to create products that contribute to solving local socio-economic development problems.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu said: The Resolution of the 1st Congress of the City Party Committee (term 2025 - 2030) set a target that by 2030 the city will have "500 innovative start-up enterprises". Thereby, emphasizing the importance of supporting innovative start-ups to achieve this goal.

Mr. Ho Quang Buu requested the Department of Science and Technology and relevant departments and branches to strengthen coordination, remove obstacles, and create a favorable environment for business development.

At the same time, the units need to advise the city to issue and perfect support mechanisms and policies to create conditions for start-ups to participate more deeply in the supply chain and expand domestic and international markets. The ultimate goal is to gradually turn Da Nang into an innovative start-up center of the Central region.

Organize an online AI competition

Mr. Nguyen Viet Toan, Director of the Danang Center for Supporting Innovative Startups, said that in October 2025, the center is expected to coordinate with units and businesses to organize an online AI competition in the form of socialization. The purpose of the competition is to find the best AI applications in areas such as urban areas, tourism, public administration, etc. to advise the city to allow piloting. Currently, the Center has coordinated surveys and collected opinions on the need for AI applications, thereby proposing practical problems for the domestic and foreign technology community to participate in solving.
