Provincial leaders pay tribute to Thuong Duc Victory Monument and Truong An Memorial Temple

Also offering flowers and incense were leaders of Dai Loc District People's Committee, Dai Lanh, Dai Hung and Dai Quang communes.

At the Thuong Duc Victory Monument (Dai Lanh Commune), Comrade Nguyen Cong Thanh and the delegates respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate the great contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs. Today's generation vows to continue writing the heroic epic of the immortal people, determined to devote themselves to the construction work, contributing to the province's rise into a new era.

Here, on July 29, 1974, Division 304 opened fire on the Thuong Duc military sub-region, considered the "steel door" protecting the southwest, the enemy's Da Nang Military Complex. After 10 days of fierce fighting, on August 7, 1974, Division 304 completely controlled this military sub-region, destroyed the 79th Special Forces Battalion, and leveled the system of fortified strongholds in the southwest of Da Nang.

In this steadfast battle, more than 921 officers and soldiers of the liberation army heroically sacrificed their lives and more than 2,000 officers and soldiers were wounded. The victory at Thuong Duc opened up National Highway 14, connecting with the Truong Son road, creating conditions for our army to deploy attacks on Da Nang , contributing to the complete liberation of the South, and the reunification of the country.

In a solemn atmosphere at Truong An Memorial Temple (Dai Quang commune), delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, meritorious predecessors, heroic martyrs, and heroic Vietnamese mothers who sacrificed their blood and bones for the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

Located on Truong An hill, Truong An Memorial Temple was built from 1993 to 1995. This is an architectural complex including a memorial temple, flower garden, ancestral worship area, and martyr worship area, which has both historical and spiritual significance. The temple also has a worship area for all the clans in the district, has stele of doctors from Dai Loc, a list of martyrs from 18 districts/towns and martyrs who died on Dai Loc land.

On the occasion of visiting and giving gifts to outstanding policy families in Dai Loc district, on the morning of January 16, comrade Nguyen Cong Thanh and the delegation also offered incense at the Memorial House where the Dai Loc District Party Committee was established (Hoa Thach village, Dai Quang commune).
