Immediately after the rain stopped, Lao Cai province directed relevant agencies to quickly mobilize machinery and human resources to overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters, especially the key traffic routes in the area.
According to statistics, the total damage to traffic infrastructure in Lao Cai province is estimated at more than 51.7 billion VND, including landslides of more than 351,000 m3 of positive slope soil and rock, nearly 2,000 meters of road collapsed and damaged due to negative slope landslides; nearly 15,000 m3 of road surface was peeled and damaged. Typically, the circulation of storm No. 10 caused serious landslides, completely destroying the roadbed at Km 269+750, National Highway 32 (Tu Le commune), paralyzing this route. Next, the circulation of storm No. 11 continued to cause a terrible landslide at 9:00 a.m. on October 7, about 15,000 m3 of soil and rock from the positive slope on National Highway 70 (Nam Chu village, Phong Hai commune) suddenly collapsed, burying 3 houses.
Many other routes such as National Highway 4D, Provincial Roads 162, 153, 175B also had a series of landslides and flooding, causing traffic jams for many hours. In addition, a series of auxiliary works were also destroyed, 733 m of guardrails were damaged, 646 m of drainage ditches were buried, 423 trees were broken and obstructed traffic.
Immediately after the disaster, the Department of Construction urgently directed road management and maintenance units to deploy urgent solutions. With the motto "where the water recedes, there will be a solution", hundreds of workers, excavators and bulldozers were mobilized to the landslide hotspots. At the landslide site on National Highway 70, the authorities coordinated with the Road Maintenance Board and Road Management Company 242 to urgently clear the rocks and soil. By late afternoon of the same day, the road was temporarily opened to traffic.

Immediately after the natural disaster, Lao Cai province leaders also established working groups to conduct field inspections and directed the local construction industry to research and survey a plan for a solid embankment along a road section of about 100 meters to ensure long-term safety.
At the landslide point where the roadbed was completely lost at Km269+750, National Highway 32, the construction unit was required to concentrate machinery and human resources to handle the situation urgently, to avoid traffic congestion. The immediate solution is to drop steel cages and stone dragons, combined with pouring concrete and installing D200 pipes to rebuild the road surface. With tireless efforts, the road has now been temporarily opened to traffic in step 1 for vehicles to pass through.
Not only did the functional units take drastic action, the work of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters in Lao Cai also received the cooperation and contribution of the local government and people, especially in rural traffic routes. In many areas, people joined hands with functional forces and local authorities to quickly fix traffic routes in villages, remote areas to serve the post-disaster support work.
