Provincial Federation of Labor summarizes union activities in 2023

On December 25, the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) held the 3rd Executive Committee meeting for the 2023-2028 term to summarize union activities in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024. Attending were comrade Do Viet Anh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission.

In 2023, trade unions at all levels in the province closely followed the program, work plan and direction of the higher-level trade unions, flexibly and creatively, focusing on solutions to effectively implement the set targets and tasks. 6 groups of targets with 11 specific targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor were basically achieved and exceeded.

Of which, 23 new trade unions at non-state enterprises were established, recruiting 7,947 new members. Activities to care for the lives of union members and workers continued to receive attention. During the year, 20 "Union Shelters" were supported to be built and repaired with a total amount of 987 million VND; 1,618 union members were supported and visited unexpectedly with a total amount of 912 million VND.

In particular, during the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao, trade unions at all levels organized the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Cam Ket" with many activities of giving gifts, lucky draws..., creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for workers to feel secure in their work and stay with the business; supporting, visiting, and taking care of 118,239 Tet gifts in cash and kind for union members and workers in difficult circumstances, sick, unemployed, reduced working hours, affected by natural disasters, storms and floods... with a total amount of over 53,491 million VND.

Continued to sign 5 new cooperation agreements with partners on providing products and services at preferential prices for employees; 77,435 union members benefited from the "Welfare for union members" program with a benefit amount of over 40,825 million VND.

In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor has launched and organized emulation movements and campaigns to improve labor productivity and work efficiency. Thereby, 6,450 initiatives and 3 products have been recognized and applied in practice.

Trade unions at all levels actively and effectively implement new policies on supporting workers of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; participate in Party building; participate in building regimes and policies with the authorities at the same level; implement democratic regulations at the grassroots level, negotiate and sign collective labor agreements at enterprises, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at enterprises...

In particular, in 2023, trade unions at all levels successfully organized the Congress for the 2023-2028 term, completing it ahead of schedule.

On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor organized a vote of confidence for the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Do Viet Anh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, acknowledged the achievements of trade unions at all levels in the province in the past year. Emphasizing that 2024 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the Trade Union Congress at all levels for the 2023-2028 term, each trade union organization needs to identify its responsibilities in advising the Party Committee and coordinating with the government to successfully complete the local political tasks. Strive to perform well its functions and tasks, affirm its position and role, especially in caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers. In particular, well implement the plan to take care of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024.

Along with that, advise and coordinate with businesses to implement policies well, pay attention to training, fostering, improving qualifications and skills, ensuring income and spiritual life for union members and workers. Regularly care for, support and encourage workers in difficult circumstances... so that they can see their rights and benefits when joining a trade union.

Strengthening the development of union members and building a strong union organization. Promoting the propaganda of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, major holidays, and important political events of the country and the union organization, strengthening the trust of cadres, union members, and workers in the Party, the State, and the union organization.

Building a working class and a force of union members and workers who are steadfast in political ideology, united in action, and perform well all assigned tasks; ready to share difficulties and accompany businesses... Thereby contributing to socio -economic development, successfully achieving the goal of making Ninh Binh province basically meet the criteria of a centrally-run city by 2030.
