- Dear comrade! After a period of preparation, the programs within the framework of the 2024 Peace Festival with a series of meaningful, unique and attractive activities have basically been completed. Could you please tell us what activities will be included in the program framework of the festival? - Quang Tri is a land that has suffered much pain and loss due to war, a place that expresses the nation's eternal desire for peace, a place where human conscience always looks towards, admires, sympathizes and shares deeply. Therefore, Quang Tri, "the sacred land of blooming peace", was chosen as the venue for the Peace Festival, a suitable choice, the right connection point, the right "bridge", the right contact point. Especially in the current context, where hot spots of armed conflict and violence continuously appear in the world, the value of peace needs to be consolidated and promoted more than ever. The Festival for Peace is held to honor the value of peace, contributing to enhancing the position and image of the country, of Quang Tri, building Quang Tri into a cultural space for peace, a destination for peace. With the desire to create a destination of peace, overcoming the pain and loss, everyone is immersed in the desire to live, the desire to develop. Along with gratitude and commemoration activities, the festival program is designed with many cultural, artistic, entertainment, sports, culinary activities..., organized in many different spaces, many different levels for many subjects, especially the young generation. Within the framework of the Festival for Peace, there will be many meaningful activities to honor the value of peace, spread the message of peace of Vietnam, at the same time promote and introduce to international friends the beauty of nature, scenic spots and cultural, artistic, tourism activities as well as the socio -economic potential of Quang Tri province. The program has the following main activities: Cycling Festival for Peace; Opening Ceremony for Peace Festival; Music Exchange "Melody of Peace"; Cultural and Culinary Festival "Taste of the Land of Sunny Flowers"; Program "Peace Wish".

The Cycling for Peace Festival is an activity before the opening ceremony of the festival with the content of a bicycle parade, organizing a number of short races; visiting, giving gifts, environmental activities and promoting before the festival. This activity will be held from the Hien Luong-Ben Hai Special National Monument to the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery and the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Special National Monument. The target is domestic and international amateur cyclists (Laos, Cambodia, Thailand...), the number of athletes participating is from 500-1,000 people. The Festival for Peace will be opened at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai Special National Monument with the theme: "Connecting bridges". This will be a grand art program with the participation of many famous domestic and international artists, with a multi-space music stage. The music exchange program "Melody of Peace", including Trinh Cong Son's music night with the theme "Peace Song" will be held on the evening of July 13 at Fidel Park, Dong Ha City. The international music exchange program Melody of Peace will take place on July 20 at the Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center. The cultural and culinary festival "Taste of the sunny flower land" will take place from July 12-14 at Cua Viet Tourist Area with typical special dishes, demonstrating the culinary culture of the three regions of Vietnam and the world. The program "Peace Wish" will take place on the evening of July 26 at the Flower Dropping Wharf on the North bank of Thach Han River and the special national relic of the Ancient Citadel. The program's main theme is to honor and admire the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of protecting the independence of the Fatherland, and also to commemorate the victims of war around the world. In addition to the above activities, the festival will have many meaningful activities in response to the Festival for Peace, especially the political art program "Parallel 17 - Desire for Peace" which is a practical activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Agreement (July 21, 1954 - 2024), the establishment of Vinh Linh Special Zone (August 25, 1954 - 2025) taking place on the evening of July 19, 2024 at the Flag Tower area on the North bank of the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Relic Site... - Dear comrade! The special feature of the Festival for Peace is that it is an "open" festival, with an opening but no closing, this is meant to convey a message that peace is always the desire and aspiration for eternal existence of mankind. Could you tell us what are the highlights of the opening program of the festival? - The opening program with the theme "Connecting bridges" with an opening ceremony and a special art program. This is the first time there has been a multi-space music stage on the shore, under the river and in the air connecting the two North-South axes of Hien Luong River, creating a three-point art program in one performance space. The artistic idea is an emotional touchpoint conveying the spirit of integration of Vietnam, expected to be a program of national and international scope with the focus on the land of Quang Tri, where the evidence of a glorious and heroic time of great stature is preserved, connecting international friendship with historical sediments - friendly people - unique culture. The art program has 3 chapters, including: Chapter 1 "Wish", suggesting the idea of peace, the value of love; Chapter 2 "Connecting Sound", highlighting Vietnam as a peace-loving nation, a link to create peace and Quang Tri with Hien Luong Bridge carrying the pain of division to become a symbol of the aspiration for unity, peace, and national harmony; Chapter 3 "Song of Joy" conveys the message of joining hands to build peace, bringing the aspiration for a world of harmony, joining hands together. Art will join hands to aspire for the spirit of global solidarity, harmony regardless of skin color or ethnicity to connect and build peace for all mankind. The program will end with an artistic fireworks display. Peace is an eternal value, an everlasting aspiration of mankind. Therefore, the Festival for Peace will be an open festival, with only an opening day with a series of activities and no closing day, with the intention that Quang Tri aims for is that whenever visitors set foot in Quang Tri, they will feel special emotions. - Dear comrade, up to this point, how has the preparation work been carried out? - The Festival for Peace has the largest scale and expectation ever in the locality. Therefore, Quang Tri province is carefully preparing each work content, calling for the participation of the whole society so that the festival can truly spread positively in social life, especially effectively serving tourism development in the province. Up to now, the main tasks of the festival have been basically prepared at a ready level, from the Government's policy of agreement, support, guidance of central ministries, departments and branches; program development; mobilizing human resources, socialized resources to connecting and receiving the companionship of domestic and international agencies and organizations; preparing the mindset for the people to welcome tourists... Specific tasks such as infrastructure improvement, building traffic diversion plans, ensuring security and order, ensuring health, food hygiene and safety, improving the quality of accommodation and food establishments, training, professional training for service providers, developing training programs... are being implemented according to plan. Quang Tri is the place where the festival is initiated and organized with the contribution of many organizations and individuals joining hands to create value. Each person coming to Quang Tri is a peace ambassador, bringing peace into the festival space. Therefore, we hope to continue to receive the attention of the Government, the support, companionship and participation of ministries, central agencies, provinces, cities, organizations, individuals, domestic and foreign tourists and happily welcome delegates, friends and tourists from near and far to Quang Tri. - Thank you, comrade!
