Galaxy Z Flip5 design revealed with large external screen

According to Engadget , recent reports say that Samsung will equip the Galaxy Z Flip5 with a larger external display than current models, which is shown by a render image shared by MySmartPrice that shows the phone with a secondary display that covers most of the front of the device when people close the device.

MySmartPrice doesn't share the size of the outer display, but judging from the leaked image, it's significantly larger than the 1.9-inch display currently found on the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Additionally, it looks like Samsung has improved the display around the main camera array on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 compared to what Motorola did with the Motorola Razr+.

The larger external display will make it easier to frame selfies with the Galaxy Z Flip's main camera, but it also has some potential drawbacks. First, the larger secondary display will affect battery life on the Galaxy Z Flip5 unless Samsung equips the phone with a higher capacity battery. The small external secondary display is a highly appreciated design on the Galaxy Z Flip4 as it still ensures users can easily access some information.

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Z Flip5, along with the Galaxy Z Fold5, at its Unpacked event in late July. By then, we'll know for sure whether the clamshell-style foldable smartphone will actually have a large display.
