Tornado toppled and ripped off roofs of many houses in Ca Mau

On the morning of July 28, Mr. Le Hoang Phi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ninh Thanh Loi commune (Ca Mau province) said that a tornado had just occurred in the area, damaging many houses of local people.

A house collapsed due to a tornado

Initial information said that at around 5am the same day, in the area of ​​Xeo Dung and Nha Lau 2 hamlets (Ninh Thanh Loi commune), a tornado occurred, collapsing and blowing off the roofs of 22 houses (of which, 5 houses collapsed completely and 17 houses had their roofs blown off). Initial damage was estimated at over 500 million VND.

Immediately after the tornado occurred, the People's Committee of Ninh Thanh Loi commune mobilized local forces to quickly arrive at the scene to help people overcome the consequences. At the same time, support of 5 million VND was provided to households whose houses collapsed; 3 million VND to households whose houses had their roofs blown off.

"Currently, the commune's functional forces are still helping people overcome the consequences of the tornado; reviewing and planning to help people repair and rebuild their houses, and soon stabilize their lives," Chairman of Ninh Thanh Loi Commune People's Committee Le Hoang Phi added.
