This error appears when using the zoom feature, causing unusual black dots on the photo. Apple had to admit that its new product has a bug and will soon fix the problem.
CNN tech reporter Henry Casey was one of the first to get his hands on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air after they launched on September 9. During his review, Casey took the iPhones to a concert and used the 8x zoom feature to take photos of the band on stage.
However, some of the photos taken showed black dots on the LED screen behind the band, even though the screen itself was not defective. Casey said that about one in 10 photos taken with the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro had this problem.

Following Henry Casey's complaint, Apple confirmed the error, saying "this is a very rare occurrence that can occur when the LED screen is extremely bright and shines directly into the camera." The company pledged to release a fix in an upcoming software update, but did not announce a specific time.
Not only the black dot error, the photo quality when using the 10x zoom feature or higher of the iPhone 17 Pro is also not highly appreciated. Eric Zeman from the technology site PCMag commented: "Photos taken at 8x zoom have good quality, but when the digital zoom exceeds 10x, the images start to lose detail."
According to initial assessments from market research firms, the iPhone 17 series has recorded a 25% increase in sales compared to the launch of the iPhone 16 last year. However, the iPhone Air, despite being a new product model and having high expectations from Apple, is the least popular iPhone model.
Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air series since September 19. Vietnam is the first country to be included in Apple's initial sales list, helping domestic users access the products early without having to wait or buy through "hand-carried" channels.
