Permanent Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha attended the "Full Moon Festival" in Van Dinh commune

On the evening of October 3, at Van Dinh Commune Commercial Center, Van Dinh Commune People's Committee organized the "Full Moon Festival Night" in 2025, attracting more than 500 children and a large number of local people and teachers to attend.

At the festival, Chairman of Van Dinh Commune People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Diep said that this year the commune organized the Mid-Autumn Festival in 30 villages, the joyful atmosphere spread throughout the villages, children participated in the colorful lantern procession, the Mid-Autumn Festival tray with the rich flavor of the homeland, lion dance performances, art performances, and unique folk games, attracting a large number of children.

Over the years, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune have always paid attention to the work of protecting and caring for children, considering it a long-term strategic task to improve the quality of human resources.

In 2025, the commune had 385 children receiving gifts with a total value of nearly 183 million VND; 100% of children in special circumstances received care and assistance. Basic child development indicators were all high: 99.98% of children under 5 years old had their births registered, 99.7% of 5-year-old children went to kindergarten, 99.3% completed primary school at the right age. The rate of malnourished children under 5 years old has decreased to 5.1% (by weight) and 10.4% (by height). Socialization work has also achieved positive results. In 2024 and the first 8 months of 2025 alone, the commune mobilized more than 168 million VND to support 194 children in difficult circumstances.

The leaders of Van Dinh commune praised the efforts of the entire political system, community and family in taking care of children, while emphasizing that there are still many challenges for 126 children in special circumstances and 226 children at risk of falling into special circumstances. The commune continues to strive so that all children are cared for and develop comprehensively.

On this occasion, the commune leaders sent words of encouragement to the children, especially those in difficult circumstances, who always strive to rise up and achieve many proud results; at the same time, they sincerely thanked the attention of the city leaders, agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals who have accompanied the work of protecting and caring for children.

Within the framework of the event, the People's Committee of Van Dinh commune organized a fruit tray decoration contest with the participation of 14 kindergartens and primary schools in the area. The teams brought many unique ideas, recreating the image of Uncle Ho, the national flag, the map of Vietnam, messages of environmental protection, solidarity and the desire for peace . Traditional fruits such as grapefruit, custard apple, banana, persimmon, watermelon... through the skillful hands of teachers have become vivid works of art, conveying messages of solidarity, faith and hope for the future. The organizing committee awarded 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 3 third prizes and many consolation and special prizes to the teams.

Also at the program, city and commune leaders awarded 30 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances, demonstrating the practical concern of the Party, government and community for the young generation.
