In May, while the Tam Hoa plum gardens are still not yet "brown", the Ta Van plums are already purple. This is an early-ripening plum variety with a sweet taste, grown in some gardens in Na Hoi commune (Bac Ha district).

According to local people, thanks to the application of the spread-out farming method, nearly ten years ago, some garden owners planted a new variety of Ta Van plum, which has a flowering and ripening season frame nearly 1 month earlier than the plum variety that is commonly grown locally, Tam Hoa plum. This method will create long flowering and ripening seasons, helping the consumption of plum products of gardeners, the provision of flower season experience services more convenient, the price of early ripening plums is also higher, bringing a significant source of income to the people.

Ta Van Bac Ha plums ripen red in the gardens.

Early ripening Ta Van plums are grown mainly in gardens in Na Hoi commune. Currently, there are about 1,000 trees that bear fruit for several years and harvest in the first year.

From the initial 2 seedlings, for nearly ten years now, Ms. Hoang Thi San's family in Na Hoi Tay village has grown more than 100 early-ripening Ta Van plum trees, yielding tens of millions of dong each year.

Ta Van plums are small in size, but rich in flavor, and have a purple-red color when ripe.

The weather is sunny, plums ripen quickly, gardeners have to hurry to harvest in time for the season.

Early ripening Ta Van plums sold in the garden range from 70,000 VND/kg to 100,000 VND/kg.

The old plum trees are quite tall, so to harvest them, people have to use chairs or ladders.
