Candidates in Da Nang were suspended for bringing cell phones into the exam room.

(NLDO) - On June 26, more than 14,000 candidates in Da Nang City completed the first two exams in the 2025 high school graduation exam.

According to a report from the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City, the exam took place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations, with good organization and serious working spirit from the exam sites.

Specifically, the literature exam recorded 14,176 candidates out of a total of 14,313 registered candidates, reaching a rate of 99.04%. In the afternoon, the math exam had 14,201 candidates out of a total of 14,354 registered candidates, reaching a rate of 98.93%.

Notably, a case of a candidate violating the regulations during the math exam by bringing a cell phone into the exam room was handled according to regulations. In addition, there were no incidents related to the exam or the invigilators.

Mr. Tran Nguyen Minh Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City, said that this year's exam took place in a special context when it was organized for the first time in parallel according to two programs: general education 2006 and 2018.

The city has arranged a separate testing site for 393 candidates studying under the old program, ensuring separation and avoiding confusion. Organizing 2 programs at the same time requires high requirements in training, personnel assignment and appropriate test arrangement.

In the math exam, Da Nang had a candidate who violated exam regulations.

The examination board also provided good support for special candidates. A candidate who had an accident was still able to take the test by himself and was arranged to take the test in the same room as he wished. A blind candidate was arranged to take the test separately and had a teacher to assist him according to regulations.

Inspection and examination teams of the Ministry of Education and Training and the City Examination Council continue to closely monitor and ensure transparency and fairness at all examination sites.

The first day of the exam in Da Nang was assessed to have taken place safely and seriously.

On the morning of June 27, candidates under the 2006 program will take the combined exams of Natural Sciences or Social Sciences. Candidates under the 2018 program will take the elective subjects in 2 sessions.

"The exam is not only to assess students' abilities but also to measure the quality of local education. We clearly identify that and have made efforts to ensure the exam is fair, safe and effective," Mr. Thanh emphasized.
