Da Nang promotes cooperation in smart cities, aviation and seaports in the Netherlands

DNO - On October 3, a city delegation led by Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung worked with partners in the Netherlands to promote cooperation in the fields of smart cities, aviation and seaports.

In Amsterdam, the delegation worked with the Amsterdam Smart City Project Management Agency on the smart city model. Also attending was Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Ngo Huong Nam.

Ms. Dagmar Keim, Director of the Amsterdam Smart City Project Management Agency, shared with the delegation about the development process from ideas to practical projects on smart and innovative city models to solve challenges such as urban housing, energy, flooding, climate change, etc.

Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung shared with the Amsterdam Smart City Project Management Agency some orientations and areas of cooperation of Da Nang in promoting science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, and building a smart city.

“Da Nang hopes to continue to receive investment, management and consulting experience sharing from Amsterdam in the coming time to build a smart, modern, unique and livable city,” said the Chairman of the City People's Council.

At the working session with NACO Company, a unit with extensive experience in airport planning in the world and many years of cooperation in Vietnam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung shared information about the investment project and upgrading of Chu Lai International Airport.

Accordingly, Chu Lai airport is planned by the Vietnamese Government to become a 4F international airport. Da Nang is also studying the planning for the synchronous development of complexes around the airport, becoming an urban area associated with trade, services, logistics, and high technology.

The leaders of Da Nang city hope that NACO will participate in exploring cooperation opportunities with Da Nang in consulting on airport design solutions that are green, smart, energy-saving, sustainable and in accordance with international standards.

Currently, Da Nang is preparing to call for investment in the Chu Lai International Airport project in early 2026 under the public-private partnership model. The city hopes that NACO will connect quality and reputable international investors in the field of airport investment and operation to Da Nang to explore opportunities for cooperation and mutual development.

During the working program in Amsterdam, the delegation worked with Royal Bokalis Westminster NV, a member of Royal Boskalis NV Group, a global company in the field of construction and maintenance of maritime infrastructure such as dredging, landfilling, salvage and rescue of heavy ships.

The delegation was introduced by Mr. Clovis Brouillard, regional manager, about large-scale maritime projects that the company has been implementing in countries such as UAE, Singapore...

In Vietnam, Royal Boskalis participates in the project to build and operate the Cai Mep Ha Logistics Center (Ho Chi Minh City).

The city delegation shared information related to a number of projects being implemented in Da Nang for the company to research and explore cooperation opportunities on projects such as: Lien Chieu port, dredging Cua Lo channel in Chu Lai Economic Zone, dredging Truong Giang river, construction projects of sea encroachment areas...
