Three houses were built between 1939 and 1941 with old materials that are difficult to value, making the inspection difficult.

On January 7, speaking with Giao Thong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Le Van Chau - Deputy Director of the Project Management and Land Fund Development Board of Vinh Thanh District, Can Tho City said that the site clearance work for the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route is facing difficulties.

The current status of one of the three houses is hindering the progress of land handover for the Cao Lanh - Lo Te project.

Accordingly, the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route through Can Tho needs to clear the land for the intersection with Lo Te - Rach Soi route at Vinh Long hamlet, Vinh Trinh commune, Vinh Thanh district. There are 19 households affected, needing to arrange 6 resettlement plots. The cost of compensation for the project is about 66 billion VND.

Up to this point, Vinh Thanh District People's Committee has cleared 1.6 hectares, but four cases are still facing difficulties because three houses were built between 1939 and 1941, and the remaining house is affected by a small area.

One of the three houses was built between 1939 and 1941. Over a long period of use, the house has been repaired and renovated in many areas.

"These houses are built with baked bricks, wood, rosewood... very solid and have many materials that are not in the city's approved price range. We had to hire an independent unit to appraise and make estimates, so it took a lot of time," said Mr. Chau.

Mr. Chau also said that these three houses were built like the old landlord houses, and are now the place to worship the ancestors of the owners, whose descendants are all living abroad. This is also the reason why the compensation work has encountered many difficulties.

"Currently, these houses are being appraised, we will hand over the site for the project in the first quarter of 2025," said Mr. Chau.
