US sanctions many Chinese entities related to Russia, Beijing officially speaks out

China's Ministry of Commerce expressed concern on August 25 after the US decision to put several Chinese entities on an export control list due to issues related to Russia.

China's Ministry of Commerce said the actions of the world's largest economy disrupted the international trade order and hindered economic exchanges.

"Beijing will take necessary measures to resolutely protect the legitimate rights of enterprises," the ministry affirmed.

Previously, on August 23, the US added 42 Chinese enterprises, 63 Russian enterprises and 18 enterprises from other countries to the trade restriction list due to concerns about the involvement of these enterprises in activities in Moscow.

The US State Department said the sanctions target several companies from the world's second-largest economy involved in shipping machinery and microelectronic equipment to Russia.

By regulation, US suppliers will have to obtain a license to sell to businesses on the above "blacklist".
