On the afternoon of June 26, candidates for the 2025 high school graduation exam took the math test. At 3:40 p.m., the exam ended, and the first candidates at the Chu Van An Secondary School ( Hanoi ) exam site left the school gate. A male student burst into tears as soon as he saw his relatives waiting.

Nguyen Khanh An, a female student at the exam site of Chu Van An Secondary School (Hanoi), shared: "The test was more difficult than I imagined."
M., a 12th grade Physics student at Chu Van An High School for the Gifted, also had a similar opinion. M. said that the classification questions mainly focused on combination content. “I couldn’t do those questions. The exam was much more difficult than the sample exam that the Ministry announced,” M. said.
Unlike M. and Khanh An, two male students from the Tay Ho District Continuing Education Center shouted with joy after helping each other check an answer and both got it right. The two male students were satisfied with their test results.

“I think it is not difficult to get 6-7 points. Students with average academic ability may have difficulty with this math problem. I plan to apply for block C00 so today's result makes me satisfied. I hope to get over 6 points,” said Minh Phuong, a female student in the regular high school education program.
Commenting on the math exam, Dr. Pham Anh Tuan, math teacher at Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School, Hanoi, said: The exam had many difficult questions.
According to Mr. Tuan, the structure of this year's high school graduation math exam closely follows the Ministry's knowledge matrix, including 12 multiple-choice questions, multiple answer options, 4 true-false multiple-choice questions, and 6 short-answer multiple-choice questions.
The content of the exam closely follows the 2018 high school program and the orientation of the Ministry of Education and Training .
The exam includes many real-life problems, including two true-false multiple-choice questions and three short-answer multiple-choice questions.
“In terms of multiple choice questions, most of the answers are in form 1 and most of the true or false questions are in form 1 and 2, so students will be able to do them all.
However, the short answers are quite difficult for students. The questions focus on mathematical thinking and mathematical modeling,” said Mr. Tuan.
According to Mr. Tuan, this year's exam has three difficult questions of a classification nature: two combination-probability questions and one application question of integration.

The difference compared to last year's high school graduation exam is the new structure, the content of the questions is also completely different. Students no longer encounter questions that are too heavy on calculations but instead have to develop their thinking ability and model problems, especially with questions that integrate interdisciplinary subjects.
With 2 short answer multiple choice questions in form 3 and the remaining short answer multiple choice questions being relatively difficult for students, Mr. Tuan predicts that this year's score distribution will hardly change compared to last year.
