For the second consecutive year, Thanh Hoa Newspaper won the A prize "Press and propaganda award on economical and efficient use of energy"

On the afternoon of December 17, in Hanoi, the Office of the Steering Committee for Energy Conservation in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association organized the award ceremony of the "Press and propaganda award on economical and efficient use of energy in 2024".

The Organizing Committee awarded 35 prize-winning works from press and media agencies from central to local levels, including: 7 print newspaper awards; 13 electronic newspaper awards; 8 television awards; and 7 radio awards.

This year, Thanh Hoa Newspaper continued to win the A prize with a series of 5 articles "The Fatherland needs electricity, like the body needs blood" by the group of authors Minh Hang - Le Dung in the print newspaper category.

Specifically, the series of 5 articles includes: Article 1: Overcoming barriers, "opening" the electricity flow; Article 2: DSM/DR program: Mutual benefits; Article 3: Do not let electricity waste become a "disease"; Article 4: Green economy : Thanh Hoa accompanies; Final article: Saving electricity is patriotism!

Thanh Hoa Newspaper won the A prize with a series of 5 articles "The Fatherland needs electricity, like the body needs blood" by the group of authors Minh Hang - Le Dung.

The topic has delved into and clarified many general issues in the work of using energy efficiently and economically in the country in general and Thanh Hoa in particular. In particular, the series of articles is closely linked to the current context of the urgency and efforts of Thanh Hoa and the localities in carrying out the task of building the 500 kV line circuit 3 from Quang Trach (Quang Binh) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen); demonstrating the role of the Party Committee and the government in leading, directing and mobilizing the strength of the entire people in carrying out this special task.

Along with that, with the high potential for energy saving in the industrial sector, the topic has gone into depth, deeply reflecting the reality of creative and flexible solutions of large enterprises that have accompanied in managing electricity demand and using electricity economically (DSM/DR Program) - both benefiting enterprises and joining hands with the State to use energy efficiently; solutions of the Party Committee, government, and functional branches of Thanh Hoa province in building and implementing effective management and technical measures to reduce losses in the process of transmission, distribution, and optimal operation of the power grid; potential areas for exploitation and difficulties, challenges, and proposed solutions in reducing electricity loss and using energy efficiently.

Along with that, the work also deeply reflects the "budding" solutions in research, use of "clean" energy, and development of the circular economy of the business community of Thanh Hoa province according to the green growth trend, accompanying the country's Net Zero roadmap.

The 2023 Press Award for Propaganda on Economical and Efficient Energy Use was organized by the Office of the Energy Conservation Steering Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association and Vietnam Electricity Group to propagate, promote and implement the National Program on Economical and Efficient Energy Use for the period 2019 - 2030; to honor outstanding authors and works on economical and efficient energy use at the central and local levels.

In 2024, the Organizing Committee of the award received nearly 500 entries in 4 types of press including: print, electronic, radio and television. The overall quality of the entries was assessed as relatively even, with diverse content, addressing many issues in national energy security, specifically energy saving by businesses and the People.

In particular, this year many non-specialized press agencies and local press agencies participated in the award, with in-depth, excellent propaganda series and won high prizes. Some press agencies have a team of young reporters with articles presented in the form of modern journalism and in-depth content, which were highly appreciated by the Award Council.

Many central press agencies have maintained in-depth articles reflecting creative solutions, such as: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Thanh Nien Newspaper, Vietnam Television, Cong Thuong Newspaper, Giao Thong Newspaper, Phap Luat Vietnam Newspaper; Voice of Vietnam Radio; Vietnam National Assembly Television; VTC Digital Television...

Many local press agencies have a series of excellent, in-depth propaganda articles, such as: Thanh Hoa Newspaper, Phu Tho Newspaper, Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Bac Giang Newspaper, Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Lao Cai Radio and Television Station, Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center...

The final jury selected 35 best works from 35 authors and groups of authors to award 1 Special Prize, 4 A prizes, 8 B prizes, 12 C prizes, and 10 Encouragement prizes.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the award ceremony, Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said: Although it is a highly specialized award with elements of intersection with science and technology, since its launch, the award has received increasingly positive responses from central and local press agencies.

The works selected for the preliminary and final rounds are typical works, honestly and creatively reflecting the results and achievements of energy saving work with many specific contents such as: effective practices of localities, enterprises, units, green project development, green production, research on economical and efficient energy use... Besides, many works also point out difficulties, challenges, propose and recommend solutions, policy mechanisms to guide the economical and efficient use of energy nationwide in the coming time.
