In the 2020-2025 period, the agencies and units of the Border Guard have organized basic training and fostering of foreign languages and ethnic minority languages in accordance with the set content, programs and plans, meeting the requirements and tasks of managing and protecting national border sovereignty .
Agencies and units participating in foreign language training and development have trained 7,005 comrades in the following languages: English, Chinese, Lao, Cambodian, Russian, French; of which 172 comrades are proficient in foreign languages, 6,833 comrades speak foreign languages normally.

The Deputy Commander of the Border Guard requested that in the coming time, commanders of agencies and units continue to direct and inspect the organization of training and fostering in foreign languages and ethnic minority languages in conjunction with the implementation of regular tasks according to the plan; make foreign language and ethnic minority language learning a criterion for classifying and evaluating the quality of cadres and employees, considering annual emulation and rewards, and transferring and appointing.

Schools in the Border Guard build and train a team of high-quality lecturers, teachers and part-time teaching staff; research the use of ethnic minority students to teach languages to other staff and students.
