Capacity building for communities and staff to deploy and implement Program 1719

On October 1, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions organized a summary training course to improve capacity for the community and officers implementing programs at all levels, under sub-projects 4 and 5 of the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Son La province (Program 1719) by 2025.

From August 1 to September 30, over 2,100 prestigious people, community monitoring boards and collaborators in villages and sub-regions in the province were taught the following topics: Skills in making annual socio -economic development plans at the commune level with the participation of the community in socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction; skills in building and implementing projects and activities to preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups, associated with tourism development; skills in promoting trade, services, and promoting local products; applying information technology in socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; developing local OCOP branded products; models of linking households, groups of households, cooperatives, and enterprises to develop production and business according to the value chain.

Representatives of prestigious people and community supervisory boards of communes attended the conference.

Through the training course, prestigious people and the Community Monitoring Board and collaborators in villages and sub-regions in the province have improved their skills and knowledge to propagate and mobilize people to effectively implement ethnic policies, the Party's guidelines, and the State's policies and laws. At the same time, they exchange experiences on poverty reduction, management and effective implementation of the National Target Program 1719 to apply in local practice.
