According to Russian news agencies, when asked if there was any official response to President Putin's proposal, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: "There are a lot of official responses and official statements. They are not constructive."

On June 14, before the Ukraine peace conference in Italy, President Putin presented Russia's preconditions for starting peace talks with Ukraine, including Kiev agreeing to abandon its ambitions to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and hand over four Ukrainian provinces that Moscow has claimed sovereignty over . At the same time, basic agreements on a peaceful settlement need to be stipulated in international treaties and the lifting of sanctions against Russia must also be included in the settlement. President Putin also affirmed that Russia is not negotiating to pause but only to agree to completely end the conflict.

According to President Putin, Russia is putting forward a peace proposal that is really different from the previous one due to the changed situation, but if the West and Kiev continue to refuse, they will be held responsible.

Meanwhile, answering Sky TG24 TV channel when arriving in Italy to attend the G7 Summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: "Those messages are ultimatums. They are no different from previous ultimatums."

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said: "This is not a proposal made in good faith," that "This proposal only means Russia will achieve its goals." And US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said at the end of the NATO meeting in Brussels, Belgium on June 14 that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no right to dictate to Ukraine what to do to restore peace.
