The workshop is part of the Hanoi Supporting Industry Exhibition Fair 2025, taking place from September 17 to 19.

According to experts, Vietnam is facing a rare opportunity as global supply chains are shifting.
However, the localization rate is still only about 36.6%, many industries such as electronics and components are still below 30%. Technical quality, international standards, and transparent data are still major barriers.
Up to now, the whole country has about 2,000 supporting industry enterprises, of which Hanoi alone has about more than 900 enterprises with over 320 enterprises having production systems and products that meet international standards, with enough capacity to supply to the production networks of multinational corporations.
In which, manufacturing of components and spare parts is the key group, providing supporting industrial products for most key manufacturing industries such as automobile and motorbike manufacturing, mechanical engineering, electricity and electronics, etc.
However, many Vietnamese enterprises have not yet effectively taken advantage of the opportunity to connect with FDI enterprises to form a domestic supply network. According to Ms. Tran Thanh Hoa, Head of the Trade Connection Department, Vietnam Industry Support Alliance (VISA), the survey results of 300 Vietnamese enterprises and 40 buyers from Japan, Korea, Taiwan (China) show that the main barriers today are uncompetitive prices; differences in standards and quality; limitations in finance and technology; lack of information connecting supply and demand; and limited cooperation habits and trust.
To take advantage of the opportunity, Vietnamese enterprises need support to improve their capacity in operations management, marketing, sales and product quality management.
These are key factors to meet the strict standards of FDI corporations, thereby affirming the fundamental role of supporting industries in the industrialization and modernization process.
At the same time, the State continues to improve support policies, only then will the supporting industry truly become the foundation for the industrialization and modernization process, bringing Vietnam into deep and sustainable participation in the global supply chain.
