On July 29, Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Xuan Dung and leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai inspected the progress of component projects of the Ring Road 3 Project (Ho Chi Minh City).

At the Tan Van - Nhon Trach Component Project 1A section reporting to the working delegation, Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board (under the Ministry of Construction) said that the 8.22 km long Component Project 1A passes through Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai , and the construction volume has reached 98% so far.

According to the plan, Component Project 1A will officially open to traffic on August 19. This is the first section of Ring Road 3, Ho Chi Minh City to put into operation because construction started in September 2022.

Nhon Trach Bridge, the main item of Project 1A of Ring Road 3, Ho Chi Minh City, will open to traffic on August 19.

To synchronize the exploitation items, My Thuan Project Management Board proposed that the Ministry of Construction consult with Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai to urge investors of Component Project 1 and Component Project 3 to speed up the progress of connection items, especially the 300m road connecting to Component Project 1A to open to traffic on August 19.

After surveying and listening to reports from relevant units, Deputy Minister of Construction Bui Xuan Dung requested the units to try to complete all procedures for exploiting Component Project 1A before August 15, and open the road to traffic on time as directed by the Prime Minister .

Mr. Dung requested that the My Thuan Project Management Board, when putting into operation the Component Project 1A (including Nhon Trach Bridge), must develop a plan to ensure traffic safety and coordinate with the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai to properly divide and direct traffic.

In addition to the 1A component section opened to traffic on August 19, according to the updated plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor of the Ring Road 3 Project through Ho Chi Minh City), by December 31, 2025, an additional 14.7 km of the overpass section through Thu Duc area and 32.6 km of the expressway section through Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, and Binh Chanh areas will be opened to traffic.

The 76km-long Ring Road 3 project in Ho Chi Minh City passes through three localities: Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh. The project has a total investment of VND75,300 billion, funded by the State budget.

Unlike other projects, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project passes through a locality and is assigned to that locality to be responsible for investment.

In particular, Component Project 1A, Tan Van - Nhon Trach section, is invested by My Thuan Project Management Board under the Ministry of Construction because this project is invested with ODA loan capital from the Korean Government.

Component project 1A is also the earliest component project to start construction (starting in September 2022), so it will be put into operation earlier than other projects.
