The 1st Congress of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee: Taking advantage of golden opportunities for breakthrough growth

In the 2025 - 2030 term, Dong Nai has a golden opportunity to make a breakthrough in development, becoming a dynamic growth pole, a center of industry, services, logistics, modern tourism and high-tech agriculture in the Southern region and the whole country. This is also a challenge, requiring the Party Committee to have a strategic vision, high political determination, drastic actions and synchronous and effective implementation.

That was the emphasis of Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Party Central Committee's Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac in his speech at the 1st Dong Nai Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, held yesterday morning, September 30.

Speaking at the opening of the congress, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation Vu Hong Van affirmed: During the 2020-2025 term, Dong Nai has experienced many difficulties and challenges, especially in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic, but with the spirit of solidarity of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Dong Nai have resolutely deployed flexible and effective solutions to successfully implement the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels. The work of Party building and political system building has been focused and has clearly changed. The economy continues to grow at a high rate, with economic growth in the 2021-2025 period reaching 7.11%/year; budget revenue is higher than forecast; the investment and business environment has improved.

Speaking at the congress, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac acknowledged: in the past term, although facing many difficulties and challenges, with high determination, the Party Committee, government and people of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces have promoted the revolutionary tradition, patriotism, solidarity, dynamism, creativity, and strived to achieve many important and comprehensive results in all fields with 60/70 targets achieved and exceeded the congress resolution.

Notably, key national projects in the area such as Long Thanh International Airport, expressways, belt roads connecting with Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast region, the Central Highlands and seaports... have been implemented, creating new momentum for breakthrough development. The new rural construction program has achieved outstanding results, Dong Nai ranks first in the country in the number of communes meeting the model new rural standards, and second in the number of communes meeting the advanced new rural standards.

Dong Nai ranked 3rd out of 34 provinces and cities in terms of service index for people and businesses, and is among the top provinces and cities in the country in terms of digital transformation level.

Strive for average growth of 10% - 12%/year

Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Vu Hong Van emphasized that in the 2025-2030 term, the entire Party Committee, government, army and people of Dong Nai are determined to overcome difficulties and challenges, take advantage of golden opportunities for breakthrough growth, build Dong Nai to develop green, rich, civilized, modern, and strive to achieve the basic targets of a centrally-run city by 2030.

The political report of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee at the Congress identified 5 development perspectives, 8 key tasks, and 3 breakthrough tasks to promote strong development in the next 5 years. The general goal is to build Dong Nai province to develop green, rich, civilized, modern, becoming the driving force for development of the Southeast region and the whole country; striving to basically meet the standards of a centrally-run city by 2030.

Strive for an average GRDP growth rate of 10% - 12%/year; GRDP per capita of over 250 million VND; digital economy proportion of over 30% GRDP; urbanization rate of 55%; universal health insurance; 70% of communes meeting new rural standards, of which at least 10% meeting modern new rural standards; 80% of schools meeting national standards...

Speaking at the Congress, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee Phan Dinh Trac emphasized: In the coming term, Dong Nai has a golden opportunity to make a breakthrough in development, becoming a dynamic growth pole, a center of industry, services, logistics, modern tourism and high-tech agriculture in the Southern region and the whole country. This is also a challenge, requiring the Party Committee to have a strategic vision, high political determination, drastic actions and synchronous and effective implementation.

The Party Committee, government and people of Dong Nai must be more determined, proactive and creative, mobilize to the maximum and effectively use all resources inside and outside the province to invest in development, turn difficulties and challenges into driving forces, turn potentials, advantages and aspirations into breakthroughs in development with the determination to take the lead and be at the forefront.

The Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee requested Dong Nai to be determined to achieve a growth rate of 10%/year. Urgently complete, review and adjust the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 with new development space and opportunities. In particular, focus on building 4 key areas and focusing on investing in forming key tourist clusters and spots as determined in the draft resolution.

The Congress announced the Politburo's decision to appoint Mr. Vu Hong Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Nai province for the 2021-2025 term, to continue holding the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Nai province for the 2025-2030 term.

The Politburo also appointed 4 Deputy Secretaries of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee (term 2020 - 2025) to continue holding the position of Deputy Secretaries for the term 2025 - 2030, including: Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Mr. Thai Bao, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Organization Board of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee.
